Default Where's the money - Casinos or Poker?

I keep a close eye on the 'competition' and it seems to me that of the sites that started about the same time as mine, the ones that promote Poker are doing better than those that focus on casino games.

Before I start another casino site, I think I need to do a little more research!

So this poll is aimed at webmasters who target both markets: where do you find the money comes from: Poker players or Casino players?

It's really hard for me to compare poker with casinos, because i really have no clue as to how much poker is bringing in compared to casinos. The type of traffic and the casino niche are like comparing oranges with mangos.. lol

I'd really like to know from affiliates who are doing both.

Player for player ... then casinos by a long way ..
Perhaps as much as 5x - 10x more valuable IMO.

i wonder guys if you ever get nervous about a big win in one month.

This would wipe out your balance.

I just had a talk with one of my affiliate managers. Since he said its 95 percent most likely that this would not happen it can.

Meaning for a guy like me who only promotes poker if one of my players decides to try a casino and wins big, i go bankrupt.

SInce i would never ever be able to pull up my numbers to match the negative outcome of that one month.

So essentially in my case. If i have one csino player who wins big. I am seriously out of buisness.

cant see how this is profitable

It'a always a concern if a player wins big and wipes out that month's balance, but most programs don't carry over negative balances, so the next month you can start again from 0. So long as you spread the risk and promote more than one property, it's unlikely that you'll have all your earnings wiped out.

Anyway, winners are good - they always come back!

I hear you mate.

My only problem with this, is that on my program with one room, i offer free bankrolls. I can spread out 200 - 300 a day sometimes. Or as little as 25.

over the month thats alot of my own money to give out. Then have to worry about the risk of one of them winning big on casino.

In my case, i was essentially told all my losses are carried over. Period

So essentially like i said if a big win comes. I am say negative 2000.

I would have no alternative but to stop promoting that room. It would take months to get that back, unless i sent them a cheque lol.

I've never had a negative month, not even close... Until this month. lol
This month is pretty amazing because I've had some players do very well, and nearly wipe out all of my commissions. I've never had swings so varied as this month, but I have noticed that the winners tend to play more and give some of it back.

Wow,

Very nice. Its great not having a negative month. It means your doing well.

for a while, i was doing the same thing. Even after a few months, I started to see good results.

That is until my players decided to play casino games. A player will win a nice amount cash out and leave.

Of course its wiped out all my commissions along with it.

From what i have been told, " There is nothing we can do about it" and

"All you can do is hope the come back and lose" So unfortunately i have to deal with this ongoing.

I love it when players win with poker because they deerve it when they play well.

When it comes to the casino I cant say the same, since a big win would bankrupt me completely as i have been told i would be accessed the percentage which will carry over no matter what the cost.

Oh well.

Thanks for posting mate.

Not in my experience. I find that casino players keep playing until their deposits are gone - even if they win at some point.

One of my promoted programs has negative carry over and I've been negative there since Christmas . But that's caused by some successful sports bettors, wiping out the profits from the casino players. The casino players generally end the month with me in a positive.

GFPC,

Maybe you should try promoting casinos that don't have poker rooms associated with them? Some examples: Sloto'Cash, 400 Affiliates, CWC Affiliates, and Mainstreet Affiliates. These are "casino only" affiliate programs. No poker, no sports.

You could also work with casino affiliate programs that do have a poker room -- just don't promote the poker room. Examples here: Brightshare, Casino Coins, Rewards Affiliates, Referback, and Fortune Affiliates. I send my visitors to the casinos, and they never cross over to the poker rooms.

Occasionally I will have a big winner wipe out my earnings at one of the casinos, but this is rare. If you have multiple income streams from multiple programs, a big winner at one program won't affect your revenue that much.

In the long run, you should be able to make a lot of money promoting casinos.
