Hi All,
Intertops will be attending and we have some passes to give away. Please drop me a message or an e-mail at affiliate@intertops.com if you are interested.
I only see 5 or so affiliates commenting about being there in this thread. I'm hoping everyone is just being shy about announcing their plans.
If anyone wants to get together (manager or aff), please call or send me a text. My number is nine-one-nine four-five-one seven-six-nine-six I dont have anything planned outside of the conference... so please give me a ring!
I'll be in town from Saturday at 4pm until Wednesday around lunchtime.

Sadly I will not be attending this event due to personal conflicts I have with the event organizer. Kicking myself now because I really wanted to meet you all!
For those attending I am sure you will have a great time. Old Montreal like Carlo said is indeed a great place to be. So have fun people eventually we will meet.
A joint CAP GPWA venue would be best for me.

Two members of the Dealer Dan Gaming Network will be there. We'll be arriving in town Sunday, and leaving Wednesday. Looking forward to it!

I am speaking at the event and arriving Sunday night.... is there any events going on Sunday night?
Am not staying at the Intercontinental - am about half a mile away... figure bar at intercontinental would be a meeting place.
aka Frank Watson
Hi Frank,
I haven't seen any organized activity scheduled for Sunday night, but I think you're right that you're sure to run into people there for the show hanging out in the bar at the conference hotel. We're staying at a hotel down the road on Sunday night but will be at the InterContinental earlier in the day to set up the GPWA booth. Looking forward to meeting you.![]()
Hi,
I am in Montreal for the conference. From the thread, it does not look like there is anything planned for Sunday night (tonight). If anyone wants to make plans for dinner / drinks, put it in the thread or shoot me an email.
Otherwise, I'll be at the Intercontinental bar after dinner this evening to see who is around.
Cheers!
Without seeing this thread, here I am, logged in from the bar at the Intercontinental. Think I've seen a few webmasters around town today. Ran into Mark setting up things downstairs.
I'll be here for a bit, if anyone sees this. Just watch out, I'm not the only one with a laptop in here!![]()
I won't be attending because i think the entry fee is too expensive for what's there, however I can offer you some advice:
Old Montreal is nice for tourists but real fun is elsewhere.
I would strongly suggest trying:
- St Laurent Street (Also called "La Main") north of Sherbrooke St. for nice restaurants, bars and nice... views
- For younger crowds and a taste of French fun: St Denis St.
- For discotheques etc Crescent St.
Well, the conference was really small. I felt I was one of about 5 true affiliates present... Very few exhibitors as well. But it still was a good conference. Montreal had excellent food and lots of sights to take in. It was a bit expensive, but worth it. Lots of great sessions - including a couple with a legal focus. Rosalind Gardner had a nice presentation (although vague) about the top 10 tips for affiliates. Reading between the lines, I got some good ideas from her.
Roman from Intertops took good care of me and it was great to see some other folks - like Carlo from GA Partners and Erin and Co. from BetUS (who also provided new calendars!). Chipleader brought Serinda - the model/face for Absolute Poker. The tropical poker girl looked really tropical, but nowhere to be found on day 2... hope she is OK... I know she was at the bar until late!
The Casino City folks were fun as usual. Steven and Eric (first week at Casino City and he travels to Montreal!) were fun. I almost stayed out later than Rebecca one evening... Michael's talk was very informative and interesting... I cant wait to see the data in another 6 months or so to see the trend.
Also got to know Marc a bit better. Turns out he used to have a similar occupation to that of my day job. Small world. That made at least 3 analytical chemists (Carlo too) out of about 100 people present.
It sounds like there will not be a North American CAC next year... Instead, Marc is going to run a skill gaming conference in Las Vegas. If I can swing it, I'm planning to make it out to Amsterdam and/or one of the CAP events.
Will they be talking about any new initiatives to push giving people in the USA the right to gamble again?
WallStreet, this conference has concluded. I don't recall much in terms of advocacy efforts focused on the United States, but I would have to look back at the schedule to see if there was a workshop of that sort that I missed.
The big news in terms of the U.S. audience from my perspective is that there will be a skill-games focused conference in Vegas next year run by CAC. I'd pretty much imagined the whole conference circuit had abandoned the states, so this was a real surprise for me and I think reflects the growth both experienced and anticipated in the skill gaming sector.
There was a lot of talk about the legal issues around gambling in the US (from both player and affiliate perspectives). In that regard, we talked at length about the iMega case which hopes to clarify the legal position. But, as you know, the affiliates and managers out there are typically not policy makers nor US attorneys who decide on the laws and who to prosecute.
