Why is life is never straightforward :-(

My youngest daughter Michelle taken into hospital today 30 weeks pregnant

Baby has stopped kicking and her heart beat appears to be very very low, also a further problem with placenta appearing to be moving away.

Michelle is now having to take steroid injections to help build the babys lungs up incase they need to bring her out now.

Got to have a major scan tommorrow morning to make final decision!

! feel so helpless and so scared but all i can do is sit at home and fret!

    Paul

So sorry to hear that Chalkie.

I have kids of my own but in all honesty I can't say that I 'know how you feel' when it's not just your children but your grandchildren that are affected.

Some might suggest that everything happens for a reason whilst others may say that god has a plan but I wouldn't presume to say that either will neccesarily make things feel better for you.

I really hope that you get the news that you want and I will be thinking about all three of you.

It may just be that right now you can't do anything much to help your daughter other than support her and that the doctors and their staff have just got to do their thing.

Best wishes and love to all of you.

I think Anthony gave some great advice above.
I don't have any kids so I can't really give any, but a baby born at 30 weeks has an extremely high chance and I wouldn't think the worst. You should stay positive and help your daughter through it. Positive energy is supposed to bring positive things. Medicine and technology has become much more advanced in recent times too.

My father was born 3 months premature on the side of the road (my grandmother was riding her bicycle at the time)...

    Miracles happen every day.

Good luck and I'll keep her in my prayers

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, but i feel very confident that , your little grandchild is just in a hurry to be welcomed into this world!

I bet when their older they will be some sort of leader or "go getter", already has the drive to get going!

Everything will be fine, and with all of our thoughts and prayers with your daughter and grandchild, how could anything go wrong? Love and best wishes

Thanks guys for your kind word, they mean a lot to me!

After past experiences i am real scared when my children and grandchildren are concerned.

we have been oiked out of the hospital because only partners are allowed after hours, and he is on a 5 hour drive home. So my little girl is on her own in the hospital where her sister passed away.

All i can do is sit at home and dull the worry with a bottle of vodka.

To add a little light heartedness to the subject though, my daughter had failed to tell us that she had decided to change hospitals and we had the whole of the original hospital searching for her when my son called. She was at a different hospital.

Mate me and mrspomp are thinking of you all right now.
If its any consolation our 2nd son Jake was born with a hole in his heart, a reflux hernia and transparent skin weighing just 1lb 1oz at 24 weeks. He's now a 13yrd old little shit. All will be good my friend all will be good.

For the record tell the matron that her partner is like 5hrs away and they will relax the visiting i'm sure.

Chalkie, all you can do is have faith in God and the medical personel.

I know how frightening it is when you get the news that something is wrong. It happened to me with my daughter and grandson. My daughter thought her water broke and was being driven to the hospital. As she was on her way, she realized that she did not break her water, she was bleeding horribly! I could have lost them both according to the doctors if she did not get to the hospital when she did.

I pray that your daughter, Michelle and her baby pull through! And yes, life should be more straightforward!

Everything will be sure fine Chalkie! God won't let you down now and I'll pray for that solemnly.

Please send us some pictures after your grandchild's recovery together with her mother. That would be a sweet memory to stack as her first survival to live on happily with your family.

    Well, so far so good.

Thanks for all your words guys they mean a lot, the prayers appear to be being answered at the moment too!

The night went without any issues and tests and scans are done.

They appear to want to continue as is and keep them under observation without a birth as yet, although she has to stay in hospital for now! With any luck the steroids will have done the job in hand before the little bundle makes an appearance.

Just to let you know, Michelle has now been let out of hospital but must go back for further in depth scans etc next week.

The doctors think the baby has a heart defect.

Glad to hear that she's back home for now, Chalkie.

Plus, you may all be one step closer to an explanation and a diagnosis which has got to be a step in the right direction.

I am glad to hear that Michelle is back home for the moment. Medical science can do incredible things these days so don't worry too much at this point. My thoughts still go out to you and you family.

    Brilliant news!

Seems Little one was just having an off day, either that or the drugs did their job!

She is looking perfect and back to kicking and wriggling away and no need to worry! Probably going to be born on time now too!
