Would anybody review a newbie site??? ;-)

    Hi there.

I've made loads of changes to my site, and mainly redesigned it to make it better optimised. If anyone saw how bad my first and second versions were, you'll realise how much better it is! However, there is a long way to go....A few months ago i'd never seen dreamweaver and never even heard of seo! I know there will be loads wrong, but i'm really keen to learn more and make my site work.

My keywords i'm hoping to optimise for are "uk online casinos"

    Here's what i've done.

I've dumped my 2 animated gifs and scroller in my heading. It was lots of code and kept the "juicy bits" further away for spiders

My H1 tag for every page is uk online casinos (i didn't even know what an H1 tag was a few weeks ago)!!!

I'm busy exchanging links with the anchor uk online casinos

I've created 20 links pages accessible from every page in the site

I've designed a site map to put all my important pages within 2 clicks of the homepage

I've named the image on my header uk-online-casinos

I've used the "table trick" to put the code for my text before my nav. bar

I've got rid of all of the spaces in file names and replaced them with dashes

I've dumped all keywords from my kw meta tag except uk online casinos

I've put my kw's at the beginning of my description meta tag

I have 2 editable regions in my template-i've named these uk online casinos and uk casinos (don't know about that one- my g/f thought it was worth a try- i hope that's not spam)

I've put my kw's in the last paragraph of every page (my disclaimer)

I think that's it for now (although i may have done a few other things). If anyone would be kind enough to offer any more suggestions i would really appreciate it.

    Thanks

    Harvey

    Hello

Although many Search Engines completely ignore meta optimisation, there is merit in doing it right anyway.

    1) Your title underutilises its sales opportunity. Give it some power and meaning e.g. It currently says: UK Online Casinos by UK Players Guide and it could say for example: UK Online Casinos reviewed by UK Players Guide - Casino directory of choice
    2) Keywords - Why only 1 keyword? What a waste! You won't be punished for putting more in there Try casinos reviewed, casino directory, etc as well. Maybe about 6 or more would be fine but not one.
    3) As mentioned above, put some keywords into the alt image tags. About 3 times each should be fine
    4) You can put the title tag into your href tags too. It is especially helpfull if you attach it to your navigation which then expands the page description of each page for your visitors benefit whils't still pumping in the keywords!

Good luck, I do like the site
    Have a wonderful day
