Are you attending the CAC or CAP Amsterdam conference?

This year there are two iGaming affiliate conferences being held in Amsterdam.

The Casino Affiliate Convention (CAC) conference is being held at the Grand Krasnapolsky Hotel in the heart of Amsterdam on March 30th and 31st. This is the longest running affiliate conference in the world and for the first time this year it will be free for affiliates.

For the first time CAP Euro is holding a conference in Amsterdam. It will be held at the RAI convention center on May 1st and 2nd. CAP conferences have been well attended, but this is the first time CAP has competed directly with CAC by holding a conference in the same city and in the same general timeframe.

I thought it would be interesting to ask folks here which of these conferences they will attend. And since I believe the attendance patterns might be different for affiliates than for affiliate programs and operators, the question provides separate sections depending on which group you fall into.

I invite everyone to post comments on the reasons for their choices.

I had plans on attending the CAC this year but since my procedure last week I will not be permitted to make the long flight to amster. Had I been able to travel at that time, I would hve been at CAC witgout a doubt.

I hope that GPWA will have an event in the fall that I will be able to attend.

P.S. I cat no vote as my response was not available in the choices.

Hope you feel better very soon Chips!

I will be going to CAC because although quite new to this industry if it has to be a toss up between the 2 there could only be 1 winner for me.

Amsterdam is great for me because i can get there on a boat, great because i will not get on one of those big tin birds - scare me to death!

Also if there is a GPWA event later in the year over your side of the pond can you give plenty of notice please as its a long way to paddle!

Funny you say Boat. That was my Plan.

To fly into London. And get on one of those 5 hour boat rides. I heard they allot of fun. Maybe i will meet you for the ride..

I asked one of my players from my site to meet me in London so we could take boat together.. its so cheap like 55 Euros..

Anyway flying into London is also cheaper. Plus i wanna stay there for 2 weeks. My 2 programmers are from Amsterdam and were planning on working on our sites.. About 10 if them for a full week.

I need to get to CAC for sure, I am currently trying to raise money for the costs at around 3-4K... LOL..

Hopefully i will be able to make it maybe have to sell my site!! LOL. nah!!

    It would be so cool

Affiliate virgin you say? You sound like a seasoned pro!

I will be getting there straight from CAP Springbreak so will be there late afternoon on the Sunday. An early night may be required...Sod it, I'll have a beer!

The boat from Dover - Calais is probably about £18 return and only 2 hours and the drive to Amsterdam is fun too!

But i dont suppose you will be bringing your car!

Looks like it could be an eventful time.

    Roll on ...

I plan to attend the CAC. I also plan to attend only one conference a year in the future, and that will be CAC. However, if GPWA arranges any 'small' conference in Europe, I will try to be there.

I really really really want to attend the CAC. But, I got engaged to my now wife at the CAC 2006 and as we have a 9 month old boy, she would not be able to attend. So me going to Amsterdam on my own without her is a BIG ASK.

But I am working on it

As for attending the CAP. No thanks. The CAC is the only conference I would consider attending in Amsterdam.

    You guys are all crazy!

I love each and every one of you, and hope you feel better soon, Chips.

I fear I won't be attending either, as my arms haven't the strength to paddle my raft from the US all the way over the ocean. I'm not afraid to fly in one of those big tin birds, but Obama just took our private jets away from us, alas.

So have a drink or two for me while you're there having all the fun, and don't forget to bring back some pictures for those of us who can't attend.

See you when you get back.

    Kathy

p.s. anyone still hungover from the last convention? hear that was a blast ... and surprised there's not more news here about it.. if there is, and I've just missed the info, can someone please toss me a link?

A better poll would be to ask if anyone is going to answer the CardSpike question.

    Sorry,. losing it here.

Congrats on both the marriage and the boy Webz!

I envy you. You have a wonderful dozen or so years ahead and then they turn into teenagers. that's not so bad either.
Almost Here! How would you like to be able to get not just one sign up from your player, or even a couple, but every single casino they join from here on? I've a plan that can make that happen and it will likely also tell you every time the player is active within the casino.

I will not be attending either, and as an affiliate I wish all the programs I promote would stay home as well. IMO, all that money could be spent much more wisely.
