Casino City depends pretty much entirely on organic SEO, and we're definitely not staying in the lower numbers. But we do spend a lot on staff to develop content and infrastructure to produce the organic SEO results that we achieve.

For Gooner :

I have seen your websites and they are of good quality and I think that you write good content ( one good startegy content ).
I think that you earn much.

However I'd like to do 2 questions :

how many time do you have one website of gambling ?

I think that your strategy, to not pay the links or adversiting, can be good but perhaps is not the better. what do you think ?

I think that with one good strategy in seo, you could to do of more. (more milionaire ? )

Hi Helpyou ... I'm not sure I quite understand the question (1) ...

But if it's how many gambling websites do I work on ?

Then the answer is 6.

GoonersGuide.com is my original one (way back in 1999) and my main one.

The Labrats (Poker, Casino, Sports) are co-op ventures with other webmaster and gambling participants and really I don't do much more than a bit of SEO and a few blog posts (as well as looking after the finances).

And I also have a couple of hobby sites where I work on new betting ideas - and age the domains while finding a new niche to work on. These are low value - low rent sites right now - but are establishing as 3+ year domains now.

When I do eventually get a good idea - then they'll have a prepared home to start off well.

As for Q2. Whether organic SEO is the best way to go ?

I think it is. It allows the site to grow in a relaxed fashion and naturally find it's identity and niche in the marketplace.

When you're actually running a site as a business then I find that it's important to keep income ahead of expenditure - and keep each site cash positive each month.

Buying links is a poor return on spend IMO - unless they are high providing traffic links on a related site. But most of the link sales I see being offered on webmaster sites are artifically inflated PR vehicles with next to no traffic.

And don't confuse my unwillingness to spend money on links as a disregard for SEO. You'd better beleive that a sgnificant proportion of my time is spent making sure that we have the correct keywords and tags etc.

But again it's organic. Post the content. Tag it correctly. Create forums and blogs. Find your niche where you can have something interesting and useful to say. The internet is so big that you will attract a significant readership over time - if you have unique content and ideas.

------------

Having said all that I understand the business mantra of spend money to make money etc.

I've seen YouTube, MySpace and other social network sites succeed and make huge money for their original owners when they finally sell - despite not ever actually making any money during their lifetime as a standalone site.

But that's the current market value of truely unique and trendy new ideas. I think the "value" is over-inflated and that money will never be recouped by the new owners - but it is obviously a way to get rich quick - perhaps as you as hinting at.

------------

However, affiliate marketting in Sports, Casino or Poker is not unique.

Reviews, banners, links, clicks - it's all the same - and I'm not sure that a huge spend on links ever really returns the value for webmasters.

There are several VERY big affiliate sites that have been bleeding money since the UIGEA was announced and they've entered into long term link purchases and/or traffic programs and sugbsequently found that the CASH COW market of USA has almost disappeared - and they're in BIG trouble now - losing money each month.

-----------

I'm not from a culture of credit my friend. I prefer to own my houses not rent them. I prefer to spend only a proportion of what I make - and slowly grow what I'm doing.

I enjoy "my job" working on sites - and am not in a rush to make 10 million tomorrow and retire - I'm prepared to take 10 years ... and enjoy the ride

SEO - content - blogs etc and imagination is the only way to go for affs in many many industries.

Do you really think that a guy doing web hosting aff, can compete in PPC with the big boys paying $20 per click?.
If in the future online gambling is 100% legal, will be the same for us.
Maybe some profit from the long tier PPC.

The trick is than in every industry, there's allways something that the owners are not able to do. That is good information, reviews, news, recommendations etc.

It is not a surprise, that the sites doing very well in casinos are offering quality info.

After all, in the ebook industry there are guys running a megasite to sell only one product.

That depends on the car. Say one had a 1969 Porsche 911 in concourse condition tucked up in the garage, that btw is worth around $70K US or more depending on the market.

Cheers
