    Default Are you using banners?

    Hi everyone,
I have a question: Is it using a banner or the logo of the casino is more appropriate these days? Or neither of them?
When I was active 10 years ago, I used 125x125 banners. I've randomly viewed a couple of sites and none of them displayed any banners at all.
    Thank you!

Never used a banner on any of my managed sites. Occasionally use a logo to promote the more successful brands on the front pages.

Ad-blockers are always changing their approach so IMO best to avoid them if possible

Agreed with CasinoDefence. Just stick with using logos instead. They still work well.

Although banners may be useful in many cases programs change them so frequently it is a constant maintenance issue to keep them updated.

Studies have shown, that the click-through-rate of banners is 0,05%.

So 5 clicks per 10,000 impressions is really not that box office smasher.

Perhaps one can impress his girlfriend with it, with a - in his opinion - thrilling banner.
But as we all know, she will say everything in order to not disappoint him during the wonderful starting weeks after the first date.

Sure, I still use banners, but very strategically. Instead of having them in the sidebar or anywhere people will ignore, I will use them as CTAs in menus, pop-ups and such.

However, if you mean just putting banners all over your site, I haven't done that in years. They just don't get clicks unless there is a strategy around it.

Banners convey more useful information (ie. promos & bonuses) than a logo, so I'd go with banners.

Yes, I do. Also banners at the smartest programs are updated all the time. Part of bet365 success are their top notch banners with live odds. (News from today, Bovada is working on them finally now)

    yes.
use GTM to track clicks on banners as events. that way you can gauge performance at a granular level [eg by page, by section, etc].
if banner doesn't convert , or get clicks, switch it or demote it. <- maybe this part can be automated on your site too assuming eg if GTM has an api.

Nothing wrong with using banners, they remain effective for me. Just make sure you're not relying on them completely for your clicks or to get your message across. As has been said, ad blockers are more prevalent than ever so a combination of text links, buttons and banners is optimal.

Adblocks block the links as well, so banners are not worse in this way. Also as links can be obfuscated the banners can be as well.

If you have Live Jackpot Tickers, they also work very well. I don't use them so much like I used to and they worked like a charm when I did. Unfortunately, they've become scarce now when I search for them in my affiliate backend.

I didn't actually know that... looks like I'll be spending my Friday night looking into Adblock.
