It's great to see many have supportive spouses; mine is supportive esp. when I get paid and I think that's quite ok since having to endure someone who is a pitbull at staying up all hours of the night, that's hard to take in addition to carrying on a daytime job. I take weeks, sometimes months off at a time doing the gambling portal to handle this which isn't too good for keeping up search engine results.

I try to balance the work (I'm always working hard) by giving appropriate time; making sure the other is satisfied in ways that please them is what life is about whilst pursuing your hobbies and careers. But, I wish I could find far more time to spend with my loved ones, family or bf.

I still think I need to make a choice on what I'd prefer to concentrate on; unfortunately or fortunately for me, whichever way you take it, the portal brings me more income overall than my career does - I love my career too but as the portal is, it's also a time consuming career and disappointing in the region where I'm located. That makes me dissatisfied sometimes as I'd like to dedicate myself to one thing only but I have family to support, parents who never took out pension and have retired or are ill (yikes!), I also support my bf I by giving percentage payments on work contributed. Taking that all into consideration, I still can't decide where I need to go as its really too much work and I would certainly like to live life and enjoy it far more than I do now.

But the spouse support is definitely there; even when I overwork, I've been given lectures on the effects of sleep deprivation - even if its true, it feels good to have him care that much. I handle all that time far more effectively now but the portal definitely suffers during that period. Needless to say, the change in US gambling laws have certainly affected the income greatly.

Got mine on Monday just as I was heading out to the A4U Expo so it gave me something to read on the train.

Much better quality this time, well done. Also great to read the interview I did and see my mugshot staring back

Thanks,

An option is missing, "I don't have a spouse, thank God"

Cool

Interesting results, most of the spouses are supportive, I guess everybody likes the payday.

In my case, at the beginning my wife complained a lot, because she said, I was spending too much time on this for nothing. but when the money started comming home, she stopped complaining, I'm still wondering why.

Seriously, it's always important to have a life partner to support your ideas and your work. It makes things much easier.

Good luck to all!!

As an Affiliate Manager working remotely, I sometimes don't work the office hours of 9 till 5.

My girlfriend had a real problem with me checking my emails etc during the evening but I have managed to control it better now.

Seeing that we live in Spain and her family are in the UK, when she's on the phone to them etc I will come upstairs and do what I need to do.

Furthermore, she has been promoted twice recently and now has to do work at home (occasionally) and work an extra half an hour/hour a day most days. Even though it's not ideal, she understands a bit more about being responsive in your line of work.

I think most of the problems discussed in this thread can be resolved with communication & involvement but that's just my opinion.

It's all about give & take

Does anyone else have this and how do you keep them happy so to speak and do what needs to get done?
My wife felt the same way for a while. We met half way - I moved my office into the living room of our house, so we were in the same room more often and I cut down on the poker games a little. I also take more family time now. I work later at night and/or earlier in the morning.

Lately, since the money is flowing better, she seems to like my business much more. The other night, she even asked me why I wasn't playing as much poker lately... that was right after I won a couple decent tournaments!

I recently went into expansion mode meaning more time at the desk so I began talking to her more about my plans and what kind of revenues i was expecting to make. This seems to keep her happy since she's in the loop.

I even asked her to start managing my aff accounts since I often go weeks or even months without checking my commissions. I think if she's more involved she'll get into it even more. I ask her to proof read my stuff and ask her advice on marketing.... smooth sailing now on the spousal support front.

I also took my wife to the PAP Canadian Meet up in September so she could meet some of my peers. Having her sit in on some meetings made her feel like part of the biz!
