Fine imposed on UAB Tete-a-tete casino

(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Gaming Supervisory Authority under the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Lithuania imposed a fine of 15,000 euros on the gaming organizer UAB Tete-a-tete casino for violating Article 18(1) of the Law on Gaming of the Republic of Lithuania, which stipulates that gaming is organized in accordance with the Gaming Regulation.

From 13 November 2024 to 2 December 2024 the Supervisory Service received notifications from 10 Applicants regarding the Company's actions - termination of remote gambling contracts with the Applicants.

After conducting an unscheduled special inspection of the Company, it was found that the Company unilaterally established the grounds for terminating remote gambling contracts with gamblers in the Company's internal procedure approved by order of the Company's director, and based on the Company's internal procedure and Subsection 15.3 of the Company's remote gambling regulations, on November 13, 2024 terminated remote gambling contracts with the Applicants, although such unilateral termination of remote gambling contracts with the Applicants does not comply with the ALU and the grounds established in the remote gambling contract, under which the Company has the right to terminate remote gambling contracts, and thus violated the provision of Article 18, Paragraph 1 of the ALU.

Decisions made by the Supervisory Authority are not final and may be appealed in accordance with the procedure established by the Law on Administrative Procedure of the Republic of Lithuania.

Possible violations are examined and proposals for a decision on the imposition of a fine and its amount are submitted by the Advisory Commission for the adoption of a decision on the imposition of a fine and its amount, established by order of the Director of the Gambling Supervision Service.
