Swedish Gambling Authority releases online gaming survey results

(PRESS RELEASE) -- For the third year in a row, the Swedish Gaming Authority (Spelinspektionen) carried out a survey on Swedes' online gambling habits. Almost 4,000 people over the age of 18 responded to the survey conducted in May 2023.
The survey shows, among other things, that:
14 percent have played online at least once a week
31 percent play online at least once a quarter.
The most common forms of gambling online are lotteries and number games
38 percent play on the trot, which is slightly more than last year
Betting on sports (not trotting) has decreased in recent years, this year 22 percent
11 percent know about and have used Spelpaus.se, which is slightly more than the previous survey. A total of 86 percent say they know Spelpaus.se.
6 percent have intentionally played on a site that does not have a Swedish gaming license in the last three months, while 4 percent have played without intention on a site that does not have a Swedish gaming license.
