He never pretended it was a direct gambling related site.

The site ranks well with its keywords.

If you aren't interested in the links fine, don't bash him for making his offer.

As far as spam, no. Some people believe a link is a link is a link....and some believe otherwise. Should you exchnage links or buy links only from non-gambling sites to advertise a gambling site...no...

I felt what he offered was a fair deal and I took him up on the offer for a few links to a few of my sites....and I will likely give him a few links back to a few pertinent pages within his site...if they have value for my visitors....
