Default 32Red online ads banned by ASA

Two ads for 32Red have been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) for "appealing to children." The ads appeared alongside search results when the search term “Jack and the Beanstalk” was entered.

    From Lexology:

The first ad stated “Jack and the Beanstalk 32Red.com Get a 150% Bonus up to £150. First Deposit Bonus & My Red Rewards Daily Offers. Join 32Red Casino today & get £15 free for every £10 deposited up to £150. 24/7 Support.”

The second ad stated “Jack and the Beanstalk Get a 150% Bonus up to £150 32Red.com 32Red.com – First Deposit Bonus & My Red Rewards Daily Offers. Join 32Red Casino today & get £15 free for every £10 deposited up to £150. 24/7 Support. Award Winning Casino. Fast Payments. Types: 550+ Online Slots, Progressive Jackpots, Table Games, Live Casino.”The two paid-for Google ads appeared when people searched Google for "Jack and the Beanstalk."

The ASA’s investigation looked at two issues. Firstly, were the adverts likely to appeal to children? Secondly, were the adverts directed at those aged below 18 years of age?
32Red confirmed that the two adverts were part of a wider marketing strategy which targeted users that searched terms that corresponded to the names of various 32Red games. One such term was “Jack and the Beanstalk” which corresponds to a “high-risk” game of the same name that could be played on 32Red’s website.

The company said that because “Jack and the Beanstalk” was a “high-risk” game, only those that have been age verified would be able to actually play the game but admitted that the adverts had appeared in error. As soon as this was brought to 32Red’s attention the adverts were removed and steps were taken to ensure that high-risk games did not appear in keyword lists for sponsored adverts again.

Just did a Google search for Jack and the Beanstalk - didn't bother using UK IP so my results might be diff. First thing I noticed were the hilarious reviews of the book all over the first SERPS page. Some excepts below. I have never read the book but I'm tempted to now

"Absolutely DISGUSTED by this book. Nothing good happens in it, and it is teaching kids that stealing is good and that you won't get caught if you do it. My kids are traumatized and I will never allow any one I come across to read it."

"Honestly, this book was WAYYY to violent for my ten year old, hemophilic, bilnd son. I did not enjoy the cannibalistic giants nor the fact that the story implies that the father beats the kid. What is that supposed to teach my son whos father abandoned him! WOULD NOT recommend for ages 20 and up!"

Next week, Snow White found chopped up into little pieces and no sign of the dwarves.

I propose LGBT slots. Something like that the highest payouts will be 3 women, lower will be 3 men. Man + woman + child would be total bust. But man with cross + $ + child would be a special bonus.

It will be inclusive and very educational. We know schools are boring and kids, who already gamble with fathers ccs, want to have fun and only then they can learn. Therefore since there are so many fines, I think this is a candidate slot for subsidy from EU (no problem Britons, you will never leave after all, so you can participate).

The book itself isn't bad... but when I read FictionNet's post actually now I realize that so many fairy tales are often so socialist, violent and ideological. As a child you don't even realize it.

Regardint the "appeal to children", there's one casino I promote, they seem like good company with good results. Their brand is called "Royal Panda" and I exchanged a few emails with them... They told me they had a lot of problems advertising in some regions/platforms because apparently pandas appear to children as well. Maybe they should just replace their panda mascot and put a drunken British guy in a wifebeater shirt there instead.

Fairy tales are nothing else than mythology. It was always brutal and sexual, until now...
I remember I read some Indian... err Native American fairy tales and they were even more brutal than Andersen.

But even that is not the point. It is obvious that mythology should not be taken literally and normal kids unlike postmodern adults understand that. That means that the images and stories carry the other hidden truth about human psyche.

I love the Royal Panda example. They told me straight away they do not want any Uk traffic.
