Although not specifically related to selling content writing the growing number of spam/scam telephone calls is ridiculous. I now never answer my phone if I don't recognize the number and for those then call with a private number I respect their need for privacy and also don't answer them. 90% of the time unrecognized calls are spam/scam calls. If it is important enough they will leave a message.
I love calls like this, I keep them on the phone as long as possible and then just annoy them. Send your spam calls my way, I love annoying them
Well since majority of the spam calls are placed by robot dialers, answering is usually a waste of time.
I also screen my calls, and let unknowns go to voice mail, if it is important they will leave a message, if its not important and they do not leave a message, I did not want to waste time with them anyway....
I personally think the carriers need to be forced to stop allowing spoofing of numbers completely, fine if law enforcement has and provides a carrier a warrant, but otherwise stop the practice. Phone room also known as boiler room operations, can make thousands of outgoing calls daily without a huge hit to their DID's and bandwith, but they could NOT handle thousands and thousand of return calls to a real phone number daily, which is what could easily happen if forced to use real numbers.

edited to add: If spoofed numbers would be disallowed, blocking annoying calls and texts become much more effective immediately, theird party apps are not needed, end users just block the number and it stops instantly from that group etc, although phone roms can change their trunk numbers, they can only do so a certain number of times.
We get robot dialers and say hi we believe you were in an accident, is that correct if you say yes, they put you through to someone real. Then keep them on the phone for half an hour.
