Sounds to me like they are doing their processing via a 3rd party provider rather than in-house.
Also, their poker room has been down for 2 months now *sigh*

Yes they do. They wrote it.
Is there some oldschool bookmaker that accepts BTC and actually does it fully inhouse?
I think for them btc biz is simply changing fiat processor into BTC processors. Not that it is bad. But still an early stage.
5dimes is a bit of a strange bookie not only in the means of affiliates but as well very strange and not friendly for a NON-US customer. Most of the SBR ratings are according to the US Sportsbooks and casinos.
I used to promote them a few years ago but experienced hard times with their banners which have been unavailable for the couple of ours late night.
About the 5% charge for BTC withdrawal, it is ridiculous.
Several brands have charged me fees when I have requested high amounts of commissions to be withdrawn. Prefer not to list them here as I am still happy to work with the brands but I can mention the fees in one case was 10% of the total amount being withdrawn and yes with BTC. Was not overly happy about it but did swallow my pride and accept as they do convert very well and maintain the players.
ok then it makes sense but I know 5dimes actually blocks access in the UK and several other European countries as they discourage people from these regions signing up.
It is reality but it really is ridiculous. Like dsi/cris have raised fees generally on payouts from 8 to 10%, but the charge is included in commission, so the payout is "free", so it does not look so bad.
To have in-house, free and highly anonymous payouts cost some fixed costs (depends on how much tuned solution you want to have; in low cost variant it is defacto free with core wallet) + costs of payout operator (ok, there is small problem, because he has keys for the hot wallet) + tx fees, which can be MUCH SMALLER with batching.
I do not complain. It is actually just fascinating, how bookies or in broader sense online businesses, which did not change for 2 decades including design and product, can still survive, thrive and be one of the best.
Also the debates about fees and how bitcoin is obsolete, because few times it cost 30 USD instead of 30 cents, are missing the point, that there are people who already pay much more for it.
Some good news: 5dimes or their processor is finally using Segwit address and do not overpay the fees 100x. So there is at least some progress. But it is slow.
Still I do not know why was so big issue to pay 20K instead of 10K. The change address received 25K after they paid me the 10K.
1st 5Dimes ignore the payment request altogether this week. waiting 4 days for a payout is not acceptable. So I cancel it and submit it again. 2 days this time and they send the payment with very low fee so may never confirm. Also as Sherlock says now only $10k can be withdrawn at a time. Message to 5Dimes: if you want the top spots then you need to treat affiliates and referred players as you used to and not chip away at your service levels. Other rivals are better than this.
you can use cpfp for propagation of the payment
not that it is acceptable, just saying
but mempool is completely empty now so i hope you got it
