Good point and fresh air of rational thinking. Human nature I guess. Still in theory people doing business should be rational. But we are not. We are the same idiots like voters, who give up millions in taxes for petty bribes from politicians who promise them some nonsense for free.
It is well known observation from behavioral economy that human nature tends to offset big loss with relatively small gains easily and exactly this is the selling point of many marketing campaigns. The dreadful thing is that even marketers apparently need to comfort themselves with a small money, so they can sleep well with a giant loss.
I have at 5dimes several months revenue, but compared to the future value of the all US players it is nothing. It is a shocker for me and I am really not happy where US black market is heading. Although I was able to do a new deals at new bookies that in the end seems to be converting better than 5dimes.

I wonder when Bovada group will follow. I assume they will at some point, can be in a month or can be years from now. Wondering which one of the two it is.

my 1st payout, that I requested like 12 days ago, was just processed
so they do not intend to rob anyone with payouts

Btw even when I got their "free payout", they charged me 300 USD for that and then - because of the free payout - they returned me 80 USD...
from livechat
They got completely mad, quoting now this applies https://cms.5dimes.eu/redemption-rules/ for bitcoin payouts. My apologies for the delay, checking with the payout supervisor indeed the policy was updated due to the fluctuations on the BTC prices as mentioned before. The most we can cover from now on would be $80.00
The previous free payout was free, now even the free payout is not free, because of the magic BTC fluctuations (complete bs as well).
Really one can see a woman logic behind this sportsbook and as far as I regret my playerbase there, it is good that they go to hell.

Really just a few Canadians mostly.
They will never make it up, because the account is in huge negative now.
Another business that has proven that the brand is nothing, the ownership is important.

I got even response from Max. I have no power to comment this any further. Maybe I should start processing BTC payments for 3% fees.
Just adding what he wrote just few weeks agoIn regards to your chat on Sunday night about Bitcoin fees, I'm afraid what you were told is correct. You can choose to have your Bitcoin payout processed for your free payout day, however, recently we made the change that we will only cover up to $80 in fees. This is the same as we do for any of our payout methods, if it is the free payout day then we will cover up to $80. We can no longer process Bitcoin payouts completely free due to the price being too volatile. We pay a percentage fee for all Bitcoin payouts and recently it has become as expensive as moving money around for wires. So I'm afraid from here on out, all Bitcoin payouts will hold a 3% fee, if you request it during the proper time frame then we can cover $80 of the fee.
I am sorry whether anyone was mislead by my 5dimes recommendation.Greetings, Due to the price of Bitcoin being too volatile and since we pay a fixed fee amount that cannot be avoided, plus a percentage fee for every transaction via Bitcoin, payouts through this method will now hold a 3% fee unless your account is Bitcoin Exclusive OR if you request the payout on your Free Payout Day. This rule applies to Affiliate accounts as well. Affiliates are encouraged to make use of their Free Payout Day ?in order to avoid any fees. Please let us know if you have any questions. Kind regards, 5Dimes Group Affiliate Team

Bodog was supposed to be the one for regulated markets and Bovada for unregulated. It is the reason Bovada was created. So this behaviour is expected for Bodog. If Bovada pulled out of US, they just close their doors and everyone leaves the building. Some of us will jump off one.
Same as 5Dimes, 99.5% of their player base must be U.S. I know my player base with them is 100% US. 5Dimes can't survive on a few Canadian players. It is over. The guy must be spinning with rage in his grave.
LOL. So true. I am trying to buy a parachute. Especially when I am now so much in negative with weird player patterns. Some of us will jump off one.
About Bodog Asia/India, it is a concern.
2 days before they pulled out I was told that they will be down for 2 days. Then it was not 2 days but forever. Clearly something about communication inside of the company is way off.
Also I remember the plans at meetings, where the Asia and Latam divisions nearly were presented as more important than North American business. For sure they had huge plans and they burned there a big money on promotions. But no one wants to burn money forever.
But Asian markets are different markets. Clearly they did not convert even for us, so it did not develop well even for them. So if I want to see the brighter side: closing those operations makes sense. I never even got a meaningful response from Asian AMs, I was always trying to ask the NorthAmericans AMs what is going on there.

There you go. 5dimes is racing towards a shutdown. I would be surprised if it's still open early next year.

I'm not buying the "We went to break into the US Market excuse". With the laundry list the DOJ had on them, a state would never
let them into their jurisdiction. Their shutdown had all the markings of "If you don't shut down, then someone (we can get a hold of) is going to be prosecuted".
This is a total closure, just they need the staff to make it happen, hence the lies.
Thing is the staff, especially the US citizens who migrated to Costa Rica can be prosecuted, if their identities are known to the Feds.
So, many Americans would now be jobless and stuck on a remote island.

Hope other bookmakers can hire these soon-to-be laid off workers.
Same happened with Greek/Betjamaica. They also paid out everyone and hopefully live better life than Tony&family. For a while they tried to survive out of USA. Of course this was the end. I have 4 active customers/week and they all have <100 USD bets.

Now they clearly paid me 10K in BTC without fees (after a lot of argumentation one month ago, where they explained how their free payout is free up to 2667 USD). Their left hand does not know what is their right hand doing. Really sad.
