8 is not always a smiling number
Hi,
is there any possibility to re-code the smiley that will be automatically installed, wenn I write anything with "
" at the end?
For example the age of a person "(1
".
I am only asking, because after I wrote this post about the Manchester Killing yesterday, I saw later, that the ages of the two young lives were replaced with a laughing smilie, and in this case this looks not really not funny.

So I wrote the age now as a word.
Perhaps it's possible with a blink of an eye to replace the "
" code with a code, that no one ever will use e.g. "#)".
Only a suggestion.
EDIT: Oh, I see now, the same problem with this post.
What I mean is the problem with
8
and after it the
)

I do not think there is a way to completely recode that as that would also mean then's of thousands of spots where it is used would also be changed, there is however a fairly extensive list of smiley' you can choose otherwise.
I think you can be sure no one thought you were making light of the incident, but I do see you point.

"I think you can be sure no one thought you were making light of the incident"
This happens when one is writing more than "Congratulations to everyone" or "Welcome to GPWA".
Then I will continue the only solution, to add a space before the ")".
I have seen this problem also with links that were put into (), if they end with 8.
Thank goodness, I have reviewed my Manchester post yesterday after submitting it.
Otherwise, a few, waiting so long for missteps, would claim, that I am making fun of the death of a children.
$20 I am right.

You are correct the space should take care of the specific case you mentioned, if you find any posts where this happened and it is beyond the edit time frame, just drop Anthony or myself a note with a post link and we would be happy to edit/change it for you.
