Dear Affiliate,

As we’re sure you’ve heard, 888 recently announced the sale of its bingo business to the Broadway Gaming Group (“Broadway”).


The transaction is due to close on 30th June 2022. In the event that the transaction closes on 30th June 2022 from such date:

The brands listed here (the “Transferring Brands”) will no longer be owned by 888 and will no longer form part of the 888-affiliate program (which is also known as the “Uffiliates Scheme”) with respect to your account.

Broadway has determined not to assume an affiliate relationship with respect to any of the Transferring Brands. If you believe that Broadway should reconsider this determination, we advise you to contact Rob Mccarthy: mccarthy.re@gameonmedia.ie or Elad Dvir: Elad.Dvir@888Holdings.com

Subject to the terms and conditions located at https://affiliates.888.com/terms-and-conditions/ which govern our relationship with you (the “Terms”), we shall pay you any Commission (as defined in the Terms) which is generated by you with respect to Transferring Brands up until 30th June 2022 (“Cut-Off Date”). From the Cut-Off Date, you will not generate any Commissions with respect to the Transferring Brands on the Uffiliates Scheme.

Please make sure to remove any links, materials, and references relating to the Transferring Brands (and their related sites) on your sites and other marketing materials by 30th June 2022.

Sounds like you need to contact them if you want to continue to promote them with Broadway, so they will pick and choose who they continue with. You can email Rob Mccarthy, but in my opinion he is one of the most shady people in the whole industry.

Well that's the thing, if the word "assume" was instead "resume" then it would be much more clear to understand.

I emailed him and said due to the move and the fact they had decided not to work with affiliates and transfer accounts all the brands on the list would be blacklisted on the website from the 30th June.

How convenient is it to simply cut affiliates so brutally from getting their commission with an excuse of "business decision", and without even a proper compensation.. they deserve to be blacklisting due to their unethical practices

This is exactly what really annoys me too. They just go ahead and do whatever the hell they want. Totally outrageous.

Tbh as soon as I found out it was Broadway that had bought Dragonfish we cut all the exposure at that point and began removing the brands over the last 6 months. Broadway were never going to be fair and honest so it's gone pretty much as I expected.

Appears the CEO also runs a marketing company, so I'll keep an eye on how things go with them transferring affiliate's players.

Worst case scenario I'll spend some time reporting their brands for blackhat SEO tactics, and for those who think that doesn't work, take a look at Catena's recent problems with the big G.

For example, 888ladies seem to be a fan of buying low quality guest posts:

Out of curiosity, which sites are you referring to?

Are you assuming Catena were penalised for buying low-quality links or other tactics?

The majority of gambling sites including operators like 888 (as you've mentioned), Paddy power, Betfair, hundreds of affiliate sites, etc all buy links like this.

If you look at their bigger sites for that time period a few did take a big drop around that time (eg: Ask Gamblers, Slotsia etc..).

Pretty much thought the same and so not surprised at all. There was no way Broadway were simply just going to transfer everything over and carry on.

I kind of wonder whether they're looking to emulate what Foxy did with the Cozy set-up.. buy a platform and focus on developing a handful of brands like Wink, 888 Ladies and Costa. Maybe eventually binning the other sites and white labels including those with Tau and United Commissions. Whatever they do I suspect there's going to be a lot of affiliate content redirecting away from DF sites.

Yeah I think that exactly. As Entain did with Cozy, focus on the big names, bin off the white labels and turn it into your own in house network. At some point the existing Broadway brands would then move from Pragmatic to its own network. Bingo white labels are going to find it increasing difficult to function as the licensing conditions become more stringent with this new white paper.

Got to be some blow back to 888 about all of this though. They are still allowing them to use their name for 888 Ladies, etc., while screwing over affiliates. 888 could easily have made it a term of the sale that affiliates had to be protected, at least for a period of time.

I totally agree with this. Sadly 888 are not renowned for treating their affiliates very well.
