    Default About Affiliate Revenue

I'm currently a writer and thinking of setting up a website and become an affiliate.

Just wanted to know how much does one make per month and do you get to receive payment even if your referral makes a deposit of $10. Just went through some sites and they say they pay you $100 when a player simply makes a deposit.

    Just need some clarifications here

how much does one make per month
Like any website, that depends on many things and varies massively between sites doing the same thing.

do you get to receive payment even if your referral makes a deposit of $10

That would be on CPA which some webmasters prefer. Others are revenue share where you should get between 25% and 50% of what the customer loses.
This all various depending upon the program/s you choose to promote, so shop around then check the affiliate program for reviews and comments on this website.

Just a heads-up; running an affiliate website is not easy money and requires a lot of work.

You'll do well to research CPA vs Revenue Share, and also research the type of company you want to promote.

Most affiliate program are indeed paying starting minimum amount.
    Ours is $100 for example.

Regarding earnings, can go from 0 to several thousands (hundred of thousands?) of $.
Depends on your traffic volume, conversion of your partners, well, many things actually can't even list them all

What I'm thinking of is to set up a website then try to get backlinks. For instance, I would exchange an article for a backlink etc and that's as far as my knowledge goes. So after this, what else is needed?

I'd advise you to have a look at the many discussions on this forum about how to generate traffic, which casino to work for, etc...
Select a niche, create high quality content, work on link building, monetize with high quality partners. Sounds simple. It's not that simple.
    So 1st advice: be patient!

Uh-oh - you can see the wheels churning here ... a $100 payment for $10 deposit ... wow!
EASY MONEY! Of course it doesn't work that way.

Basically, the poker / casino site expects to make money. They expect to receive more profit out of the player than they pay you in commission - otherwise they can't stay in business. And that doesn't happen if everyone deposits minimum amounts.

What usually happens when an affiliate gets a whole lot of players to deposit minimum amounts to collect CPAs is that after a month or two the site - shuts that deal down and refuses to pay the CPA - instead moving the affiliate onto rev-share to protect itself from collusion between players and affiliates and possible kickbacks to ensure deposits.

Then the affiliate comes onto a forum and complains like mad that he/she brought 25 players and should get paid $2500 (or whatever amount). That payment never comes through - and the affiliate learns that there is a lot more to the business than getting a few forum contacts to join with incentive payments.

Yes, might be worth saying that you won't find anyone paying you $100 for a $10 deposit, or it will be dodgy companies
In general, CPA is just not the best way to work. Go for rev share. Long term better value, and so much less trouble in terms of fraud, etc...

There was also a poll on here a few months back on Rev Share Vs CPA Vs Hybrid. might be worth checking that out.

I just had a look for it but couldn't find it.

yes that is a CPA but 100€ for 10deposit is not the case in my opinion. thatīs a very good CPA and you have to send good players to get such an offer. Further it depends on the country your traffic came from and some other things. Sure it sounds good to get such a payment but it is not always the most profitable option. If you work with a trustable affiliate program then I would recommend revenue share. Also the option to split it is a good one. If you can come up with good stats and page view numbers then a hybrid deal would make sense. You can earn a fee for the advertising and an additional revenue share.
