Absolute Poker/UB.com still allowing U.S. real-money play?

PokerScout is reporting that U.S. players with existing balances are still able to play at real-money tables on the CEREUS Network, despite an agreement made between the poker rooms and the U.S. Department of Justice in which it agreed to suspend such activity.

Today PokerScout observed real money players from obviously American cities such as Chicago, Bakersfield, Cincinnati, Colorado Springs and Minnetonka in action at the cash game tables.

Buzzy has some ... um ... U.S. friends ... who still have money on UB, and they confirm the report.

This is true. I have an account at UB and can still play, however a popup comes up as soon as you log in and states no withdraws or deposits can be accepted from the US. I guess if you have money already in there and are bored you can play? Im not holding my breath though to see if I ever get a withdraw....

I'm going to be the devil's advocate here and ask (in general) if it was really such a good idea for the press to post this news in public... I mean, the press is just telling the DOJ "Hey they are still going behind your back" and just giving more reason to penalise them.

Agreed - but they are not allowing any transactions to take place which is the bigger issue I think so they are in complience from that standpoint. Realistically, if you visit UB or AP the site traffic is absolutely aweful! I think Everleaf has more players. I do not see how they will ever make it long term. They might as well generate as much rake as they can because I seriously see them going under. Curious if non-US players were able to cash out?
