Default Account closed due to inactivity. Beware promoting Canbet

For anyone promoting sportsbetting and microgaming casinos you might want to rethink if you want to add Canbet to your site :

    Recieved mail this today :

    Hi There,

As per our terms and conditions, our system has automatically locked the account due to inactivity.

“If you do not deliver 1 new active account within a period of three months (billed months) we may terminate this Agreement immediately by delivery of written notice to you.”

Please consider this email the written notice. All payments up to date will be honored.

Please see http://www.commissionking.com/canbet-terms.html for a full breakdown of the terms and conditions.

If you would like to reopen the account, we can discuss a CPA deal, where we can pay you a flat amount for every depositing player.

    Regards,
    The Commission King Team.
In other words they are stealing the players in the account. Bewinners style is getting around.

Yes I know they have the right to do this according to their terms, but you might want to ask yourself, why is needed to close the account?

Is not like Commisionking is using work hours on affiliates. In fact I cant remember I have gotten a single mail from them the last ½ year about was going on at Canbet (affiliate newsletter). The only mail I can remember was from December, a quick notice about payments was delayed.

There was actully some activity in my account the last couple of months from players I have refered in the past, and canbet was making a few bucks on it. So its not like they were losing money on this affiliate account.

How a program like this can be Silver Sponser is something I cant understand, with terms like that.

If anyone want to promote Canbet, I suggest you go trough Incomeacces.com instead and not the in-house affiliate program Commissionking, they might take all the players in your account, if you hit a couple of bad months!

    Hi Asim,

Thank you for bringing that up. That's news to me as I wasn't aware they had that in their terms.

Great advice as well. I'll look into going through Income Access for Canbet. Cheers

I sympathise with your situation, however a couple of questions

Was these terms in the terms and agreement when you signed up?

Have you tried contacting them to discuss this and see what can be done?

If the terms were in place when you signed up i am not sure what the issue is to be honest, it is on us the affiliates to read the terms before we sign up.

Also before you recommend affiliates to go through third party programs and not the actual casino/sportsbooks own in house program you may want to look through all the programs you promote and check the terms and conditions.

I suspect that you will find some wonderful terms in quite a few programs

Min activity rules are not that rare and you may well find that if you want to go through third party programs (who by the way are subject to same terms) that you will in fact be worse off.

Finally i would be surprised if Canbet are not happy to discuss this with you and sort this out to your mutual benefit.

I signed up for canbet/commissionking affiliate program in 2003-2004, and can honestly remember if they had that term or not back then. But lets just say they had....Still I can not see any reason for closing the account or have a term like this..remember there was some players in and activity (small activity) from some players.
If commissionking was using ressoures to service their affilaites personel I might understand why they dont wanted "inactive affiliates", to save their own time....But this program have not send anything, like newsletters etc. for the last 8. months to affiliates.

Also remember that at the commissionking website they are advitising with "Lifetime income via your choice of earning model"...

If I bring in 100 depositing players and afterwards decide to retire from affiliate marketing and sell my sites, commisionking could still 3-4 months from now decide to close my account because no new players was coming in....is that fair? is that "Lifetime income via your choice of earning model"??

I did not contact Commisionking regarding this.. Just warning other affiliates..Im not going to waste anymore time on a program like this (a lesson learned!).. After all there a plenty of other good sportsbooks out there with affiliate friendly terms that wants my traffic.

@ak : I cant log-in at the old account..but there was some small activity..there are keeping/stealing the account..so no sale
