Account Registrations - Approval Time?

When registering for a new account how long does it take for you to get approved? We all get messages that our accounts will be reviewed with 48 hours, bla blaa, bla.

I always keep record of the date we register an account so I know how long it takes. Recently someone responded to me wanting information about our registration that we made 3 YEARS AGO!!

It is not uncommon to get similar messages that are many months after registration.

How do you handle these? I actually respond to them and inform them that we registered an account on a specific day to let them know how long it has taken them to get back. Depending on the situation they are also informed that any traffic is being redirected elsewhere.

Some of these programs really need a shake-up!

Generally I contact the program with some basic questions before signing up. Usually the approval is usually minutes or hours as they are expecting any application. If they don't reply to my initial contact in a timely manner that usually says they are not a responsive program and so may not be worth working with.

I have signed up with a few in the past without being invited and the approval / response time massively varies from hours to literally years. I did a bit of a blitz in 2020 when we had covid and I was looking for some different stuff to promote. One of those I signed up to got back to me in October last year, so that would be over 4 years in that case.
