Thanks the event is held in Vegas beginning of August at the Riviera. Must book early lots to see and learn. It will put you ahead by at least two years technology wise.
EG: There has been lots of talk of Domains/DNS becoming obsolete. Test drive the new version of window products. Check out cell phone ring, you wear this thing on your finger!, the holographic P.C, or the quantum P.C
So much to learn.

Affiliate A
Affiliate A can be a cookie stuffer OR an honest hard working affiliate.
Affiliate A sends a visitor to the casino. A cookie is set.
2 or 3 weeks later the visitor decides he wants to join the casino, but doesn't remember where he got the link and goes to his favorite search engine to find the casino.
He lands on an affiliate B's site and follows the link, and signs up.
If the cookie is over-writeable the person who sent the visitor that signs up gets credit (affiliate B), if it is NOT, the person that sent the visitor weeks before gets credit (affiliate A).
Obviously the debate is whether the Affiliate A or Affiliate B should get credit.
Now if the visitor remembered the name of the casino well, and typed it into the browser and the cookie is read and Affiliate A still gets credit, that's great.... and can happen whether the cookie is over-writeable or not.
But (in my opinion) if a program is adamant about a policy of fighting cookie stuffing, it just seems to me the most fair thing to do is allow the cookie to be over-writeable as this protects the referring affiliate the most.
I totally understand and agree with having a policy against any affiliate that uses cookie stuffing techniques since this protects affiliates AND the casino directly for any non-affiliate marketing they do.
Any cookies that are NOT over-writeable tends to lend more protection to larger affiliates that drive higher volumes of traffic.

We have honestly had the whole cookie discussion a number of times here at the GPWA....it seems to pop up about once a year or so....
