    Lightbulb Affiliate Discussion Session Planned for the London Affiliate Conference

    I'm pleased to announce that iGB has agreed that a session will be held at the upcoming London Affiliate Conference where affiliates will be able to discuss various affiliate issues and concerns.

    The session will be held as part of the conference on Friday the 28th of January 2001 from 13:30 to 14:30.

    I've accepted responsibility for organizing the session. The actual agenda and detail plans will be set by affiliates as part of a discussion taking place in the private forums of the GPWA in the thread London Affiliate Session Plans.

    Affiliates have had a number of recent forum discussions, both at the GPWA and elsewhere, about the actions taken by a small number of affiliate programs that many in the affiliate community view as rogue behavior. One of the principal focuses of the session will be affiliates directly sharing their thoughts about the actions taken by those affiliate programs and the actions that affiliates are taking and plan to take in response.

    Default New Ideas for Affiliates

    Great Idea Michael,

    I would don't know what the agenda is, but maybe we can launch ideas here to be discussed at the LAC, that way the best and most relevant points will be addressed or else time may be spent debating irrelavent or non related issues.

    While we are on the subject, I would like to address the Affiliate Programs - which a lot of times are -

    1) Difficult and time consuming to search out material;

    2) Using outdated techniques like banners. When are programs going to realize that Click through rates for banners are at all time lows?

    Come on guys, wake up, let's get some new and interested material available to get our visitors to YOUR sites. Only a few programs (I will say Reward Affiliates) are good. The rest have something to be desired, even the big big names in online gaming are weak when in comes to product offering for affs.

    3) Other ideas??

    Please please please do not allow this session to just be a series of moans by affiliates relating to their individual, minor issues.

    "Michael I was owed $3.82c by XXX Affiliates and they didnt pay"
    "Michael I ran some banners for YYY Affiliates and the cookie didnt track"
    "Michael I emailed the Aff Manager at ZZZ Affiliates and they didnt reply"

    You need to structure this around just 3 or 4 topics and tightly control what gets covered. Maybe tell us all beforehand what the agenda is so that we can plan what we may want/be able to contribute.

    HTH and see you there

    We could ramble on almost forever, I'm sure, but there will be a focused agenda and it will be designed to cover the major issues suggested in the thread London Affiliate Session Plans taking place in the private member area at the URL https://www.gpwa.org/forum/london-af...ns-194329.html where input about how to structure the session and what topics should be covered are being solicited.
