    Question Affiliate links on youtube

    Hi all,

I have a slots channel on youtube which now has over 150K views (since april).
Does anyone know how to best monetize this without breaking any youtube rules and getting my channel deleted?

I believe it's not allowed to put direct affiliate links on youtube.

Any advice is greatly appreciated !

    Happy new year

I have also been wondering the best way around this, started clocking up some viewing time already on my channel.

Make a fake account or accounts, comment. Talk to yourself as a mod. Put affiliate links there as a ghost. Pick up some controversial theme. If worst the ghost comment will be deleted, but not your channel (hopefully). Rinse and repeat.

Idea #2: put special bonus inside of the video. Be creative. It can be something like an error, something that people should not see. Whatever. Something like that.

Hello! If we talk about gambling, monetization from YouTube is a bad idea, everything is on the brink, but if in the first pinned comment under the video there is an unobtrusive ref link, I think this will significantly increase your income! But not the point, the main idea is content and brand. If the brand is recognizable, then everything is quickly restored after removal. My projects are not monetized by YouTube, although I’m already thinking about it. Good luck with your Bro decisions!

I do what Sherlock mentioned, I put the link in the video. I use OBS to record, so right at the bottom of the entire video is the link. It's not clickable or anything of course its just part of the video but its in their face the whole time. From my own personal YouTubing I can say when Im on mobile or iPad i seldom look at the video description. I used to put links in the description but after getting a handful of videos taken down and a strike here and there I'm switching to the above.

Be VERY careful with this, we’ve been suspended for having DraftKings contests links in the description before - thread here: https://www.gpwa.org/forum/youtube-v...hlight=YouTube

As stated over me; be careful. I've been suspended a lot of by doing that. I wouldn't recommend it tbh.

This is becoming a real pain now, just been suspended for another 3 months for some spurious reason. Importantly this time there were NO affiliate links in the description, it can only have been from the title of the video, the words in the description or the content itself.

sounds like it's f**k youtube, let's go Twitch..
also fwiw Twitch seems to give 0 thought to responsible gaming, or enforcement of any sort.

You could easily take your YT videos, loop em and stream to a channel with OBS FTW to re-purpose your existing content..
Some clever streamers on there too... [eg look at casinodaddy channel]

of course this comes with the same old risk of building your house on rented land, but as long as the profits come in before they tighten up their rules it's a free-for all ...

Youtube is now randomly removing slot video's and closing down smaller channels.
Seems the big ones casinodaddy, etc.. do not have any issues whatsoever..

There is already a thread on the youtube support pages but i don't think it's fair business.

We’ve had our account terminated (again) in the last week as part of the same purge on videos - and we’d removed ALL affiliate and DK contest links manually from all videos going back to the very start in 2010. Extremely frustrating.

It's insane how youtube/google is targeting smaller channels..
It's pretty insane that the bigger ones just keep their direct affiliate links on the video's and get away with this.

Unfair business to say the least..

Agree with that, should one rule for everyone - although the rules aren’t particularly clear and the goalposts keep moving which doesn’t help.

Our channel was relatively small, however the 3,000+ subscribers were genuine as were the likes and comments. Genuine interaction from genuine viewers, more than can be said for a hell of a lot of YT channels in all sorts of verticals.
