On your Web site, you say that before launching Royal Apollo Affiliates you "surveyed all the top affiliate programs in the industry to give you the best terms possible." What were the key findings from that survey, and how has that affected what you're offering affiliates?

When we built Royal Apollo Affiliates we looked at top affiliate programs and read through affiliate forums to see what is important to affiliates. We learned that we need to offer a competitive lifetime commission, no negative carryover and fast payments. However, the most important thing is the relationship with the affiliate. We understand that it is a very competitive market and affiliates have to work hard to stay on top or to climb up in search engines. We assist affiliates in writing unique content for their sites, providing help with SEO and preparing unique bonuses and marketing materials. We put a lot of emphasis on helping small affiliates grow. It is really rewarding to see a small affiliate succeed and knowing you were part of the process. We also work constantly at new offers.

Royal Apollo Casino is a Rival licensee that is targeting the European market. What special steps have you taken to entice European players to Royal Apollo?

We did take on a challenge by targeting the European market as Rival’s software is less known in Europe than other big software brands. We found that we need to offer players more detailed explanations on how to claim their bonuses, and to offer more exclusive bonuses. Just as it is for affiliates I think it is important for affiliate programs to get to know players and understand what they are looking for, so our casino manager Linda Thompson gets updated through her talks with players and players’ forums on what is important to them, and we work on implementing that.

What are the most popular games at Royal Apollo so far?

Our most popular games are the i-Slots, Progressive Slots and Video Slots. In the i-Slots category there are games like A Switch In Time, Spy Game and Reel Crime. The great thing about these i-Slots is that there is a storyline and you can affect the outcome of the game by the choices you make along the way. What are three things everyone needs to know about Royal Apollo?

One is that we put our affiliates and players first. This isn’t a slogan. We believe that this is the only way forward. We are here for the long haul, so we invest time in small affiliates and big affiliates alike.

Second, we are always working on new bonuses, promotions and retention. Our aim is to improve our players’ experience, so we value affiliates’ and players’ opinions and comments. It’s important for us to hear from everyone. And we do change things when necessary.

Third, being a small company we work fast, and unlike bigger affiliate programs we are able to address any issue with players or affiliates on the spot.

Most of the affiliate managers we talk to say building trust with their affiliates is critical to success. How do you go about building trust with your affiliates?

I think the main thing is being honest. If I’ve made a mistake I admit it and work quickly to fix it. If I’ve promised an affiliate something I stand behind it. Since we are a small company I can work fast and I have a lot of freedom in finalizing affiliate deals. An important key in building trust is sharing information. I tend to share with affiliates my thought process behind things and ask for their input, so they take an active role in our decision-making process.

How long have you been in the online gambling industry? Why did you decide to enter the field?

I have been in the gambling industry over five years now. It always amazes me how time passes so quickly. At university I had a friend who started working as a customer support representative and I joined her. A year later I was a VIP manager. After two years of work I took a year to travel the world, and when I came back home I started my work as an affiliate manager with Royal Apollo Affiliates. The main reason I wanted to enter this industry is the opportunity to play different roles. I love the fact that there is always something new. This job is packed with action.

If you could have dinner with three other people, living or dead, who would they be and why?

I would love to talk with my grandmother who passed away when I was six; I never really got to know her. I would like to see what she thinks of me today and to get her blessing. Second on my list would be David Bowie. I love his music and would love to hear his backstage stories. My third choice would be Michael Palin because I can listen to his travel stories all day long. I love traveling to new places.

What’s the best movie food?

Nothing beats a bag of salt and vinegar Kettle chips because it’s easy – just eat from the pack – and because I like them. I suggest balancing the Kettle chips with your favorite chocolate bar.

What is the last book you read?

The latest book I read was Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert, and loved it. I couldn’t stop reading. Her spiritual journey fascinates me and the book deals with happiness – what is more important than that?

What is your favorite movie?

“Ocean’s 12,” because I love action films and George Clooney is one of my favorite actors.

If you had a theme song, what would it be?

“Girls Just Want to Have Fun” by Cyndi Lauper because this is the reason I work hard... to get to the fun part.

If you could change one thing about the online gaming industry, what would it be?

I would like to see more women in key roles. I think women bring other qualities to the table and should have more representation at senior levels.

If someone is visiting you, what's the one place you have to take them to see?

I would take them to this amazing wild beach an hour and a half drive north of Tel Aviv, unspoiled by hotels – just to kick back with some beer and watch the sunset. There are many beautiful places to go to in Israel, but that beach is really my favorite.

What are three things that no one knows about you?

I love nature, camping outside and trekking. I love springtime best, and being under the duvet when it’s cold outside.
