Default Affiliate Manager Interview Series: Laura Kirk - BetUS

    Name: managerInterview_Laura.gif
Views: 592
Size: 12.1 KB

Age: Let’s just say I’m not a cougar yet. Plus, I have superhuman powers and I don’t age.
    Hometown: Kelowna, British Columbia
Favorite food: I would have to say Lebanese food. My favorite lunch spot is Nuba Café.

Can you tell us a little about the BetUS program and the latest developments?
The BetUS Partners Program is pleased to offer all new affiliates 50% revenue share for the first month. Affiliates can earn up to 35% of the losses from the players they refer from the Sportsbook and Casino.

What you can expect from us:
    • 50% profit in first month
    • Dedicated account manager
    • Earn on second tier
    • No negative carryover
    • Accurate stats & tracking
    • Best conversion and retention rates
    • Commission paid on referred players for life

BetUS will provide online marketing materials and work closely to help you be successful as an affiliate.

We are launching our poker affiliate program (Gold Partners) very shortly!

From a demographic standpoint, who is the typical BetUS customer?
Male, ages 25-45, sports fan, recreational bettor.

What kinds of marketing tools do you offer to help affiliates?
We offer several marketing tools to better our affiliate’s online business.
    • Online reporting
    • XML articles and content from our locker room
    • XML sports odds and lines feed
    • Content
    • Banners and text links
    • Matchup tools
    • Scores
    • Articles and newsletters
BetUS offers attractive bonus packages, including the biggest signup and re-load bonuses in the business, and the most rewarding loyalty program in the industry.

What are your three keys to success for an affiliate?
    1. Have a marketing plan in place.
    2. Use good content and update your site regularly. There are millions of web pages on the web today. One of the greatest advantages of good content is that it helps you climb the page rankings of search engines.
    3. In order to make money you have to spend money.
What is your next big purchase (personal)?
My next purchase would have to be a new canon EOS camera 12.8 mega-pixel. I have a bit of a reputation for taking too many photos – I roughly have 9,000 pictures saved on a server. Yes, I have to have a server to back up all my pictures.

What is your favorite movie, and why?
This is a tricky question, I love to watch moves. I guess I would have to say The Lord of the Rings series.

What was your favorite subject in school? And why was it your favorite subject?
I would have to say history and gym class. I love playing sports and I do recall my history teacher being a little off his rocker -- made the class interesting.

How did you get started in this business?
I was searching for job postings on monter.ca and my girlfriend was working for the company that posted the opening, so she hooked me up with a job interview.

What thing (event, person, or program) has influenced the way you conduct yourself / do business as an affiliate manager?
I would have to say my parents, they have always told me to work hard, play hard, treat people with respect, stay positive and enjoy life.

BetUS continued to accept players from the United States after passage of the UIGEA. What are the differences between attracting U.S. players vs. European players vs. players from other parts of the world?
The European market is very competitive and saturated which makes it challenging for any operator moving into that market. Of course, there are several challenges when dealing with the European market, such as language barriers, time difference, currency, adding Euro focused games into the sportsbook, eCoom and converting the site into other languages. Right now our affiliates are our key focus on marketing our brand into the European market. However, I think U.S. and European players are looking for the same thing -- attractive bonuses, reload bonuses, campaigns and fast payouts.

Please describe your ideal day off.
I would spend my ideal day off in the summer by rock climbing in Squamish or spending the day at the beach playing beach volleyball. In the winter, I would spend a day off snowboarding up at Whistler Mountain.

What’s the key to building successful relationships between affiliates and affiliate programs?
I would have to say getting to know each other on a personal level, trust, communication and hard work.

What are some of the player promotions you are running?
    Members benefits -
    Sportsbook:
    $25 FREE – Deposit $100
    $90 FREE – Deposit $300
    $175 FREE – Deposit $500
    $450 FREE – Deposit $1000

    Poker:
    100% bonus up to $500
Earn rewards: Gold Cards, Gold Chips, Gold Card Lottery
New comers Freeroll October 6th - $3,000 prize pool
    $500 Birthday Freeroll

    Casino:
    100% bonus up to $500
    Weekly tournaments & massive prizes

If you could choose any five people throughout history to go hiking with anywhere in the world, who would they be and why? Where would you go and why?
I’m going to pick one person and that person would be my Grandpa Dick. He passed away over a year ago and I would love to spend one more day with him. I did everything with my Grandpa, we would go snowboarding, mountain biking, played tennis, water skied and drank good wine together. I would pick the longest hike (Baden Powell Trail, 48km) so I could spend as much time as I could with him.

Thanks for the interview! Good to see your human side. I agree the hiking in Squamish is awesome especially the Stawamus chief. That has to be one of the best places in the world.

Nice interview, Laura. I know you used to be the aff. manager for Bodog, and you are very professional.

Good luck at your new job. Best wishes!
