Default Affiliate Managers That think they are doing you a favour

What is it with aff managers that think they are doing you a favour? Im giving you access to my money making traffic.. not the other way around, I already have brands there making money.. why would I want to swap them out for a less known brand at a worse rate? hahah

I know. I love it when they spew all this nonsense about how well they convert and how much they pay and...

    a) they pay half what I'm getting elsewhere
    b) they convert at less than half of what my top offer converts at
    c) they retain less customers than my top offers

Yet they want to negotiate for top spots to give an extra 5% or some ****.

    COMICAL!

It is a psychological game. The only one that they have. When they persuade themselves that thye are doing you a favor, you feel it from them. We are mammals. Herd. So when you feel something from someone, then you feel it as well, even when there is nothing rational behind it. Your post proves that. You would not ask otherwise.

    Solution is: be a reptile.
We are all bloodsucking ticks, hungry, devious
each one latched on to the ass of the previous
when the last and the first latch on it can be shown
ass-blood sucked by the first from the last is his own

My favourite is when they ask for their brand to be listed on our website and couldn't even bother to check/see that it is already there and we already work with them.

Yeah that infuriates me, if they can't be bothered to check if they are on a site and ask again they usually get positions lowered even further. The worst is when you work with a brand and they are on the site and they contact you through the on site contact form asking to work with you. Lazy.

Glad to know! I always thought that I'm the only one who gets contacted by some lunatics asking if i want to list them ignoring the fact that they are already up there...lol

P.S It happens because a lot of them daily lookup for aff sites for new opportunities to be listed, and once they find one they drag the scroller directly to the site footer and then copy/paste pre-made crap into a contact form (most of the time without editing it).

I’m lucky I don’t get much of that spam (stay away you f*****) but I’ve experienced all of what everyone above has said.

If I was new and didn’t know where to go, I might look at it. But if you are on this site - you do not need them. There is plenty to keep you busy here.

I have replied to some of them however, and asked for free unique 2k word content. That seems to ‘shut them up’ and stop asking.

They are like telemarketers. They have a job to do - and I sometimes pity them. But if I’m in ‘a mood’ I might ‘mess with them’ by feigning interest.

Casino Miscreants - message me to add or remove your blacklist link here (free) (no reciprocal link expected or requested - free means free) { I just hate people that cheat)

I understand these people too -- that's their job since they're employed by some company and have to earn themselves for a living. However, a lot of them have no idea how to write properly even an email and approach an affiliate. They don't understand that creating 5 personal emails a day would give a better result than going around spamming affiliates mailboxes. Like for example today somebody from iventurecasino.com left me a signup link to their program and not a word even, that's plain stupid + a waste of time.

Most of the time it's just generic outreach and they don't bother actually looking at the site - they've got a list from somewhere and are just banging through it. We have a bunch of sites and often they email us multiples times within minutes with the exact same message, just different domain listed.

I've had similar situations where I've had affiliate managers approach me, wanting me to give them top positions on my sites, and they only want to give me a 25%-30% affiliate commission deal. I'm not going to promote any program that offers only that much, when I currently work with programs that offer 40% revshare and another program offers me a bit higher than that. These programs also convert.

The other thing is that some programs tend to pay late and their conversion rate is quite poor (possibly even no conversion), and yet, they still want affiliates to advertise their brands in the top spots. Doesn't make any sense.

Yes, that's annoying. Sometimes you're even discussing something with an affiliate manager of the program, while another is spamming. Also annoying when they send spam while the website is targeting another GEO or their brand isn't even taking traffic from the GEO the website is targeting.

I delete them. Sometimes I tell them I'll lower their exposure if they keep on spamming.

It was very interesting to read the information above. This is honestly and to the point, thank you. But as a manager, I can say that the conversion rate of responses is low, even from personal letters. Many smart managers ask their partners what conditions would suit them and try to come to a compromise with the affiliate.

Prompt, what proposals for cooperation on email for you are spam?

100% are spam. Little or no thought goes into the emails I receive - i just get generic emails saying how great the brands and affiliate programs are, how well they convert, blah blah blah. 99% have never even looked at my site, have no clue what geos i rank in and for what search terms.

The first program that does their research, is specific about matching their product to the specific page or pages that I have, with a plan for how they convert and retain that traffic, will get on my site in a good position.

And they need to have bonuses and /or promotions specific for my live casino traffic, not some generic stuff for slots, which is certainly not what my traffic wants or needs.

They don't care about that. They just want their brand with top exposure at any page. Than they can show a screenshot to their manager and all is ok. If traffic is wasted, that doesn't cost them money. That's your lost money and they dont give a damn about that.

Unless they change how they reach out to affiliates they will continue to get no reply's or very poor take up.

There are some excellent account managers out there and then there are the others. I agree with Juan Roman it is hilarious they are begging to be on your site when you already have an account and their brand is listed. Can they not check first?

Then there are those begging to get on your fantastic site then want every bit of data from you to determine if it worth their time.
