    Final update:

Money is received as refund. Case closed for us. In the end the advertiser kept his word, although it it took to long if you ask me. But in the end all good. We will be simply even more careful from now on with prepaid deals, that is for sure. Good thing at least was to see that this adv wasn't a "cheat", but simply couldn't/didn't deliver what he promised us.

    Cheers,

I am glad this is finally sorted now, it maybe took a couple of days longer than it should of done but the reason for that is because I requested the moneybookers email address on Monday last week when I said the refund would be done by Wednesday if I received it on the email address on Monday but I did not receive the moneybookers email till Wednesday therefore the refund was done the day after.
Just wanted to clear this up on why the refund was not done on time but I am glad it is all sorted now.

Is there any reason why what was paid for was not delivered?

    Yes, Renee.
We were having trouble uploading the campaign for the client which I notified them about and they felt it was taking to long so requested a refund which obviously we did more or less straight away when we received the payment details.
I am just glad it is sorted now and everyone who as looked and replied on this thread knows how I work. I just feel that class1affiliates was a bit hasty in coming and posting on here so quickly as I did not reply to an email they sent me as I was out and about for a lot of that day. When I finally got back and opened up my emails, 1 of the emails stated I had 15 minutes to reply before they put a post on the forums. Obviously I didn't reply in the time I was given hence why I am replying to this post now

"hasty" is a personal opinion I believe. For sure if I get told on the 21st of April: "If it is paid today mate I will set it up today and it will be live within 24 hours"

Fact: Class1Casino paid within one hour after receiving the invoice on the 21st of April, and there is NO traffic coming in at all, not even towards the end of April still. I followed up regularly about the status of this, Richard replies regularly, and on the 3rd of May I get an email with this line in it: "
Anyway, if we cannot get this live by Friday this week I will make sure you are refunded".

That Friday NO email confirmation/update from Richard, so after I came back from the weekend (I checked my emails during the weekend too, but no update), I waited until Monday 10:30 UK time to drop Richard an email, in which I put pressure to hear what is going on.
By that time, more than 2 weeks after the promised launch date of the campaign, we didnt't believe in it happening anymore. That is why I asked to be refunded.

Maybe if you would have been contacting class1affiliates first and kept him updated on delays with the refund, he wouldn't have come and posted here. Just a thought. It makes me nervous when I feel like I keep getting empty promises from someone. And worst yet if I'm the one contacting them to ask what the problem is.

I'm glad you guys sorted this out.

I have to agree.. It just looks dodgy that all of a sudden the communication stops after it's going well daily.

I probably would have posted too.. Although I wouldn't have done it in public and just told the other affiliate managers not to work with you. So you probably got the better end of the stick that class1 posted publicly. Otherwise you could just have had people refusing to work with you and no idea why.

This is my first post here even I spent many hours reading your forum

We actually got the same offer a while ago from Richard Davies / gambling datahunter to setup some adwords campaigns for us. We are an affiliate, but we did a lot of PPC in the past and we thought it would be a good idea to give it another try this way.

We agreed to setup 2 campaigns, and we paid him the money in advance through Neteller around 20th April this year. Sure we took a risk there, but the guy seemed reliable and professional and even until now I'm still convinced he really had (or maybe still has) intentions to get the campaigns running.

But unfortunately nothing happened, and we are still waiting. Got some replies from Richard saying the the campaigns would go live asap, but that never happened. The end of May we agreed that he would refund us the money if the campaigns wouldn't be live the 1st of June.

Nothing happened, and I emailed him again. Got a reply on the 5th of June that he went a different route with other guys (he doesnt manage the campaigns himself, he outsources it I guess) and would let me know 'tomorrow', but he didn't.
From that moment I emailed him about 4 times, and contacted him several times on Gmail chat / Skype as soon as he came online. But he stopped responding, nor did I receive any traffic until now.

If anybody knows any way to get in touch with him beside the ways I tried already, let me know!

This would be a two way street no? I would love to take all programs seriously but seldom do. Too much back head punches going on.

    Hi MisterB,

It is exactly the same story as it was with us, Class1casino. We got the money back in the end, so I expect this will happen with you too!? But the thing that is VERY annoying if you ask me, is that you have to chase your campaign/money, while in fact the person who received your payment should "work his ass off" to deliver and/or keep you updated. Being laidback after receiving the money and not deliver, is very not done if you ask me.

Sorry to hear about this MisterB!

He emailed me recently asking me to work with him but I never responded after this thread!

My advise is continue what you are doing but post like this on every possible forum, it is funny how quickly people are willing to give a refund when there reputation (no matter how low) is being challenged.

At the end send him a link with every forum post - even if you don't get a refund out of it in then at least you can stop him earning through any other affiliates!

This thread has been a bit of an eye-opener for me.

I've been working online for about 16 years, both as an affiliate manager and as an affiliate, and I haven't ever got involved in upfront media buys so wasn't aware that it was such a risky proposition. I'm well aware of affiliate fraud, but that's another matter

Glad to hear you got it sorted out anyway, even if the guy's explanation of what went wrong was a little bit, erm, dodgy.

Hopefully MisterB will also get his problem resolved now.

Sometimes it goes the other way. I've had casinos pay up front for campaigns and then pretty much disappear. I've got one on the go at the mo - I'm sending e-mails left n right, trying to get info to help promote them and it's like pulling teeth.

He is contacting me almost daily. With new offers till I received information that the advertising campagn they did never brought anything. I will check with them if they got the money back!

    He also told me that
    ''quote"
As I am being honest with you the only company I have run a google campaign for and sold data to is xxxxxxxx
    ''End quote''

So obviously that is not true either!

Maybe "pumacat" can write something here of his knowledge about "Richard Davies" that could help operators, affiliate programs, advertisers to avoid working with him/his "company".

    Thanks,
