I would have done the same thing, the only difference is that I would add a kick to the crotch as well and finish with the Karate Kid stance!

That's pretty much exactly how i react when i'm woken up like that, although i'm not entirely convinced that wasn't staged.

I remember one night my two cats of the time decided to have a fight on top of the bed. Being very sound asleep i was woken by this almight shreeking about a foot from my face. I don't remember the process, but by the time i'd worked out what was going on i was crouched on top of the bed on my toes, the duvet has been thrown aside and the cats were in the process of sliding down the bedroom wall.

There was also the night that i encountered someone really close to me in the dark in the hall on the way to the toilet when i was in the house by myself and swung for them. Hit the wall and quickly realised that the person standing really close to me was in fact my hair hanging in front of my eyes....
