I agree, its wonderful that all the affiliates here have banded together and made their voices heard in the industry. The Alliance is the real voice of the gambling affiliate business and Michael has turned a very, very negative into a positive!

Now Casinos and Pokers can promote in a place with affiliates that everyone is working for the same goal - making more money!

Affiliates can post and learn without the fears they had before of being banned and shunned in the affiliate business!

I hope this alliance helps to serve affiliates better - if this happens, everyone in the industry will benefit.

    Cheers to a prosperous future

I think all who are in favour of this alliance should come out with ideas how the alliance can serve us better.

My proposal will be that this alliance does the auditing of the affiliate programs. Michael has already said in AGD forum that the APCW auditing will be continued. I think it will be quite positive if we had two auditing centers, one monitored by CAP and the other by the alliance.

I am curious on peoples thoughts about this,

    1. Should forums like be answerable to affiliates in anyway?
    2. What if any responsibilities do these forums have to forum members?

I've always wondered where the responsibilites lie, especially when it comes to forum members.

Obviously they have a respobsibility to their staff, shareholders / investors.
But what responsibilties to forum members.

Is there some sort of forum charter on expectations to its members?

Each forum is run in different ways and with different rules etc.

Some forums are very autocratic and the board owners have the final say, and make decisions completly on their own and without member involvement.

And some boards (such as the GIA) would never even consider banning a member without first taking it to the members for a vote.

Some forums have sponsor and list them as such, some charge the programs a particiation fee, and some offer the forums to the programs for free (such as the GIA)

As far as having a charter...many of the forums have basic principles that they are founded on, and a few (such as the GIA) have a set code of ethics and guidelines that forms the basic principles that the Association is formed upon.

All you can really do is find the forum or forums you feel the most comfortable in and make yourself at home.

I think it kind of works both ways. Some members can be very passionate about an issue that they particularly find important. This is understandable since we are still self policing in this industry as best we can as affilates. There are going to be sensitive issues still.

If members are close to crossing a line, and it certainly happens, a warning would be appriciated rather than complete banishment. I think members and board owners both have responsibilities to each other. We need the boards to communicate with others in the industry and the board needs members of course.

Casinomeister comes to mind. There are clear posting rules and is well moderated giving it's members a chance to check themselves. I see mutual respect and a nice balance on such a large board.

Clear posting rules and banning procedures in place would be a good foundation IMO.

Forums should be answerable to their members and affiliates. Like presidents are, in most cases, answerable to the people.

Remember the success or failure of any board is reliant on members. Therefore, logically members should come first.

Make sense? Can't throw a party when their is no one there.
