Default Another UB scandal: Hellmuth awarded pot, despite having worst hand

UB just can't seem to get things right. First there's a cheating scandal in which players can see opponents hole cards and essentially steal $20 million from players who are playing fair, and now, thanks to a software upgrade/merge with AP, it appears that there are some software glitches that make major errors, or at least one well-documented one.

Phil Hellmuth, who endorses UB, was award a pot worth nearly $6,000, despite the fact that his opponent had a better hand. Full details can be found at http://www.online-casinos.com/news/news8215.asp.

    Thanks for the info.

I really don't understand why it takes so long to investigate and correct the outcome for the player, Poker logs syhncronize on average every 45 mins, they show everything that happened on that table hence the "logs" part of the name!. An experienced Poker Manager could have settled this in about 2 hours max!, given the right support from the senior management. Then it would be down to UB poker to pick it up with the software engineers, as this could also happen at Absolute poker.

I think tokwiro enterprises is in for a rough ride especially in these economic times, players wont want to risk there hard earned...even though the previous scandal was down too Excapsa Software.

Was this a ring game or tournament?

In a tournament, the biggest problem with the time factor is that the $6000 going to the wrong person changes the entire outcome of the game.

Depending on what financial position the opponent is in at the time will dictate somewhat his future betting strategies.

Default Other software problems with CEREUS

I play at AP, and I've noticed that when I play in the HORSE ring games there, the order of the action is actually incorrect sometimes. It seems to happen in the stud hi-lo portion of the game when two players have an Ace showing. In that instance, the player with the worse ace gets the first action (in the example below, it's the A-2 instead of the A-Q on fourth street).

I sent a message to customer support, and they thanked me by putting $10 in my account for reporting the error. I sent another e-mail when it happened again, and they offered me a free $1,000 freeroll entry (normally you have to qualify). That's all well and good, but I think it's pretty important to fix the error ... and they haven't told me that it has been fixed yet. I haven't noticed any other instances, but that doesn't mean it hasn't happened.

Yes, this issue is a lot less serious (no pun intended) than awarding a pot to the wrong person, but it still brings up issues of integrity, and just a few weeks after the 60 Minutes report ... can't be too good for business.

    (sample hand history follows below)

This was a heads up ring game Rick, you can see the hand histories at twoplustwo forum.

This latest pile of teaming dog sh*t is having me working at removing all UB and AP links on my site and placing a <h1> warning on the review pages, I was going to just delete the pages but decided to keep them, remove my links and add the warning to all visitors to the page. I also have sicontinued holding private games at AP (have locked in Monday night for over a year) and moved to Full Tilt.

Extreme? I dont think so, cant expose my visitors to such dodgy software and practices. Add to that the customer service at both sites has some "Cereus" issues.

Hellmuth was recently on Rounders Radio, and there's a synopsis of his explanation of the situation (as well as a link to the actualy interview) on Gambling911 ...
