Default Anyone experienced this penalty after ton of crap?

Hi guys got the following issues:
1 - Some bot generated sites link to mine with huge volumes - sites of the type .xyz .pro and etc there is and a nice batch of .com got a feeling is some sort of negative SEO test
2 - Above in combination with a hacker that scraped all my pages and used the content on hacked sites which then redirect to IQ option affiliate...problem is all that **** created duplicate content issue..
In result of 1 and 2 my site took a hit and almost all pages got nuked out of SERPs - considering I run one of the top sites in the niche, no manual penalty so it is clear algo penalty. Question is what should I do as without manual penalty I got no way to contact Google and explain to them that their algo sux big time. What I did is a disavow file but not much I can do about the hacked **** with my content on it.
If anyone has experience like this and have successfully recovered - I would appreciate any advice.
I do think this is unique case, since the site is in 25 languages and only the English version got nuked....

Have no idea what is the solution but you're definitely not the only one hit by this spammer/hacker sites. have same xyz links and also content scrapped (i'm sure that by the same sites).

Besides the disavow, also added right click copy protection to the site - although i think it doesn't help vs this type of scrapping.

Hope you will manage to solve it.

YEa right click won't help, what amaze me is that it worked to take me down with a site on 1mln words of content with very good link profile...I guess spam wins for now. How big your drop was - mine is like completely gone, still in index but rank nowhere or maybe page 20 or 30... etc?

For what it's worth, you can try to contact John Mueller in Google's webmaster hangouts. Or you could try to contact @johnmu or @methode via Twitter. I'm actually serious about this. It might be worth a shot. Maybe your case will enlighten the folks at Google.

I might do that as last effort problem is they will want to see the site and need to show it in public... which is not something I would love to do.. but if **** does not get sorted in next few weeks I might have to do it

I don't know that anyone scraped our content, I haven't checked actually, but we've been getting hit by a ****** .xyz network for over a year now. New links keep popping up all the time.

I don't suppose there is any way to disavow an entire extension like .xyz is there? I don't think I have any good links from .xyz, nor have I ever seen a legit site on .xyz... willing to take the chance I'd nuke something decent too just to get rid of all the bullshit links.

1 of the things you can do is potentially contact that website hosting company they MIGHT help you as their site is spam.

Google were not meant to be destroying serps when a site likes to you that is bad. As this would be too easy to manipulate to knock the competition off the top but from examples above they clearly do.

I know you don't want to be patient but Google will know your content came first and will punish the newer website and restore your results.

As for going forward does analytics provide you with IP address for the potential problem user or website? You could stop them accessing your website via your host. Look for a user that has accessed every page as this isn't natural for most websites. It could be a scraper on a host pc, stop this and it will help you with scraper

    3-4 weeks?

Dear God. That settles it. Weekly disavowing of **** links from now on. Can't have this **** taking our rankings down for a month at a time.

I've also experienced this and am in the process of adding a long list of crap domains to my disavow file. I'll be resubmitting the file in a few days and will be keeping a closer eye on future inbound links. It does suck that google doesn't automatically discount the value of these spam sites.

That is my only explanation, though I did ask Googlers to check it out.... saw visits from their central but got nothing in response. I hope though **** will stick and no more fluctuations like this will happen... really got me shocked this one

Okay, that's interesting. You might have killed two birds with one stone.

    1. Got rid of an algorithmic penalty.
    2. Survived a manual review without penalty.

Well was a risk indeed to show the URL to them, but I was pretty sure(say 50:50 ))) the site is OK, as I said it is one of the biggest sites in the niche with tons of good links and content so this hit was real shock for me

A quick thanks to those participating in this thread. The discussion was my inspiration for this week's poll question that you can see here:

Have many times have you disavowed links to your site(s)?

I invite folks that have participated in this thread to also participate in the poll.

Looks like someone pressed go on a bunch of negative link building for their rivals. Dirty bastards. Noticed a load of crap links on one of my sites correlating with a loss of some key positions. Will have to get disavowing tomorrow and see if anything changes.

Some of these guys put more effort into pushing others sites down rather than build theirs up,

the strategy is to put you out of bizznizz so they do not have to invest.

I had much better rankings when I was updating the list more frequently. I've just updated the list and am waiting to see what happens.
