"out of the box", the theme has issues which would need to be remedied
https://developers.google.com/speed/....mercury.is%2F
also run lighthouse on it fwiw.
I purchased it and played around with it for a while. What put me off was that with the game review custom post the recommended casino has to be inserted manually per review. So if you later decided to stop promoting that casino you would have to manually edit numerous game reviews.
Check out the website review requests on here on GPWA, I remember seeing at least one.
Theme demos usually don't bother about optimising images, scripts etc., etc. Take a look at the image size results for the above test page. Doing a quick add up, there's about 10Meg's of images
In addition to not opmising the KB weight of each image, most, if not all of the images are using 'Full Images Sizes', instead of optimising the required 'size' of each image to fit the required dimension.
EG - 1.7Meg (1900x1100) image using a coded 250x250 (width/height) dimension... will downloaded and use its original 1900x1100 1.7Meg size. Changing the image dimension wont alter the image KB size.
So making an evaluation on a theme's "speed" worthiness, based on its demo version, is akin to running a Ferrari on 92 Octane Petrol, and complaining it's running rough and spluttering.
Edit:
With Google now upping its Ante with further "mobile" speed and usability testing, most, if not all WP themes, are going have issues meeting the new Google test matrix. It's a time when, one should be squeezing every possible optimisation from, not only their coding, but also being mindful of how many plugins they're using.
Also, hosting plays a BIG part in getting say for example... TTFB (time to first byte) value reduced. If your using cheap-as-chips hosting, who, oversell all their servers, then it doesn't matter what you do, your TTFB will likely be heavily impaired.
This is exactly why I keep bagging on about why affiliates should learn coding. You don't need to be a html/html5 php etc., etc., guru.
However, your saviour will be knowing how to code x,y,z on your WP site, instead of relying on plugins to do everything for you.
Plugins are speed killers.
