Default Australian and US police to crack down on illegal online poker

    Oh Crap.

AUSTRALIANS who play poker online could be on borrowed time as federal agencies close the net on illegal gambling websites.
The Australian Crime Commission has urged the Federal Government and the Australian Federal Police to start charging poker websites blatantly getting around Australian legislation, by outlawing their services.
Sources close to the matter said the ACC had told the authorities to "pull their finger out".

Here we go again. Why won't they leave us alone

Reading through though I could not help noticing this
...several young Queenslanders are making a mint playing poker online sometimes earning up to $750,000 a year tax-free.
    .

I just love it when they pretend they are doing that to help us poor unsuspecting souls when it fact we all know it only about the money.

Although there aren't "that" many online Aussie poker players - it still sucks to see that this is even being considered here. Having that relative freedom to play at poker rooms you want - to being taken away.. sucks.

The law about this says that it's illegal to take a bet, but it's not illegal to place a bet from memory.
I guess they may just pull another law out of their asses. Fkn politicians.
