Default Backlink - How long does it take to see results?

    Hi,

I launched my website early Sept 2022 & I've recently started working on building back links to my website.

For the last consecutive 10 days, I've worked about 5 hours each day on building links & so far I've managed to get 2 referring Domain to my website.

This seems very slow given the hours I have put in. Is this normal?

Also, I've created profiles (with backlinks) from some well known, reputable websites however these do not show in my SEMRush backlink analytics report. Is that normal? Can, even the large reputable websites than this long for a back link to appear?

    Thanks in advance.
    C.

Many questions here can be answered in these 2 words.

    It depends

    Where the link is
How strong the page or site is that linked to you
Whether the link is on on topic on referring page
Whether the link is on on topic on referred to page
How good of quality is the content of the referred to page
Whether the spider saw the link on a Tuesday or if the date is an even or odd numbered day
How many days since the last full moon
    Probably a few I missed

Last one is a rare possibility
It could also depend on how many years since you

Side note, the last one I got from "Foamy the "tech support" episode which is the most classic episode they ever did.

The extra humor is added to show like many things seo, there are sooo many variables, and one should not expect to just buy a link or two and expect overnight success or sometimes even tangible results that can be tied to a single link or 2.

    Created profiles with links??

This sounds like you are going to forums or blogs, creating account with profiles just to get a backlink and expecting that to work.

Sometimes never, sometimes you will see then it will be demoted.. gogole are pretty good with that now, a lot of the times ranking can take 12-24 months

As you said, you are creating profiles and getting backlinks that way. It is a common belief that profile page backlinks don't work, probably they won't do anything. Potentially some, somewhere might have some effect, but you will never know because they are not tied to any specific niche and topic (unlike guest posts, for example).

If you started out in September (which is this month) it is definitely too early to expect results.

Also, the effectiveness of your efforts will depend on your niche, region and how competitive it is.
The real "effect" can come anywhere between a couple of weeks and several months.

Finding quality backlinks isn't always easy, which is why the a lot of people and companies outsource this to agencies or sole link sellers (like me )

It can be a lengthy process if you want it done correctly. Because there are factors you need to consider, such as:

    - Site Metrics
    - Niche
    - Backlink Profile (Seed Sites)
    - Solid Organic Growth
    - Keyword Rankings
    - Outbound Links

Then once you've done that, you then need to know what page you want to point to on your site, what anchor text you should use. This can be done by creating anchor text analysis and looking at link deficits.

There are different ways you can scrape competitor domains to find new ones to link out to, but you'll also want to find your own unique sites.

Of course, for a new site, it's a bit easier, you have more sites to choose from because you don't have any/ not many RDs at the moment. But when you are starting to really fight for those top positions it becomes increasing important to choose the right backlinks.

It's important to remember that backlinks are one of many important ranking factors, backlinks alone won't help your site get to the top of the SERPs but also in very competitive niches, without backlinks you won't get to the top of the SERPs.

If you have the budget and don't want to spend hours on end sorting backlinks each month then outsource it, not to silly little spammy link vendors, but to people with a real interest in delivering results.

Otherwise there isn't really any shortcut to it.

Stay away from profile backlinks too, they hold little to no value. You want genuine guest post links, banner links, homepage links, etc.

That's a good breakdown from Omina, although if you are planning to outsource link building you should be extra careful. Even the companies that "deliver" results often fake it using half of what you paid and keeping the other half to themselves.

If you want to start building relevant backlinks at a low cost, you can try exchanging links with people from here.

Even if your website is new and doesn't have much to show yet, but you are planning to develop it - it might be a good "investment" for others to exchange links / posts with you.

Feel free to ping me with the details if you're interested and also start a thread about exchanging links.

Of course, reciprocal links aren't the best thing out there, but if they are relevant they're definitely better than profiles page ones.

OP If you really only started in Sept (ie the domain you're using has no history prior to that) then it's a near certainty you are going down this backlink route too early.

And even if it was/is an aged domain, you'd still want your current content to be deep enough and of a high enough quality first (which it may be, of course...but in most cases where someone asks a question of this type, it's often not).

Paul's right. You can pick up a few links on this forum. Some paid, some reciprocal. But, as per other answers, it'll be 'how long is a piece of string' as to whether and when any of them would actually have value.

When you are able to send pm's, pm me if you like and I'll tell you half a dozen places to get a link that cost nothing (except time) and likely they will have some value.

Aside from that, you probably will get more value over the next few months by focusing on other SEO/site aspects besides links.

The likely most optimal approach is to get the site strong, with a handful of (at least reasonable quality) starter links that are basically just saying 'I'm here, I exist', and then circle back to your link-building efforts further down the road. From what you're saying now, it sounds like you're approaching that sub-optimally. But like I said, too early anyway.

Since you are posting in this forum, I would expect your website is related to the gaming industry. If that is indeed the case, one of the easiest sites you can get a link from with good authority is the GPWA website. That is because we gladly provide links from your member profile page to the gaming sites you operate. You just need to let us know what they are.

Instead of dealing with 3rd party link sellers that are only link sellers, and do not own any sites of their own,

Deal directly with the webmasters and site owners of gambling portals, the GPWA Members that own sites.

Chaumi made a good point about getting a few "I'm here" kind of links, but make sure they are relevant sites and not just link farms used to sell links.

It takes at least a year to start gaining some momentum with Google. Affiliate marketing is definitely no get rich quick scheme, it takes a lot of effort especially during the early stages.

And yet that myth is still around, 15-20 years after the golden days, where a banner farm would rank up and start earning.

The OP bio clearly states "we are dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and business owners succeed online. With over a decade of experience in online business" and if you are asking this question, either this thread is a post count or that underlined line is a lie. Which is it?

Good backlinks are very important, as it is in every online industry.

In 2008 I started in mobile gambling. Back then it was new and big affiliates didn't care about that "niche". I started with wap sites, then html5 and finally moved to wordpress around 2012. In those days only a few good backlinks were needed to be successful and I had great earnings. When competition in mobile exploded, the earnings decreased slowly. But I enjoyed many years of commissions from players I've delivered.

The same happened when I got active in the CBD industry in 2016. Massive earnings for several years, until the industry got "overcrowded".

So my advice to anyone trying to make some serious bucks online would be: try to be ahead of the crowd. Keep a close eye on trends. Many industries are very competitive and are very hard to be successful in. Especially for small affiliates. Also keep in mind: most affiliates fail. There is no easy money. And hard work isn't the only way to success, you also need a lot of luck.

Keep continue working on backlinks, You can give 1-2 hours per day to making backlinks. It's almost impossible when Google will appriciate your link building strategy but as far as i understand it's needed 2-3 google updates.

You should make profiles which should be totally focused on your brand services.

You should make articles which should be informative.

You should make web 2.0 micro blogs which should be mix of brand focused and informative.

    You should make social links.

and these 4 type links you need to get google indexed and keep making links for these backlink (you just created for your site).

it will surly give you better result.
