But that was the Eric Schmidt era. Sundar Pichai era is something else, ugly and nasty, but I won't comment any further on that. Hopefully, Page & Brin will wake the f*** up and change something. In the end, it all comes down to the money, but Google should also bring some value for the user.
In 2020, Bing was so broken that I was able to inject my own keywords in the search by using rudimentary bots and just a few proxies. Bing was sub subpar (if it's correct in english to say so), and that's an overvaluation. Also, from a webmaster point of view, Bing is not even capable of mitigating a negative SEO attack, while Google fixed that a long, long time ago.
We can say/hate whatever we want, Google is still the #1 user choice when it comes to search. Why? Because they are still the best.
As a side note, I'm going to test social media marketing with a new project, just to see how it goes. I agree that sources of traffic should be more and more diverse these days.
