Belle Rock has extended the Pending Period for withdrawals to 72 hours, from 24 hours.
This will, of course, allow Belle Rock to retain more funds. What will the long term effects of this new policy be?

Some players will not wait the full 72 hours and then cancel their withdrawal and play - this is the aim.
Probably better for affiliates but not for players so long term, not viable.
I am sure they bend the rules for VIP players , I cashed out $xx,xxx last week and i email vip support to flush my account and done instantly then as soon as payment people come in to work they process the wire.
Some players will cash out $100 just to put it back in to get the 10% ewallet bonus etc so I do understand the underlying reasons why some casinos go this route. From affiliate point of view I would not worry about it.
I don't like it, both as an affiliate and as a player. Three days is insane IMHO and I can only see it driving players away.
This goes for all casinos/groups, not just Belle Rock:
It should be maximum 24 hours with the option to flush on request regardless of your VIP status. After the first withdrawal, there should be no reason to wait more than a day for your money when using an ewallet (somewhat understandable on weekends, but not really).
Purely from a player's point of view, the faster a casino gives me my winnings, the sooner they'll get it back. I tend to forget about casinos that make me wait, play at others in the meantime, and then maybe play them once in a while if I don't care about waiting several days.
If you're going to change anything, make things better for the player, not worse. The better the service provided, the more attractive you become, and the more likely players will return. Isn't that where the real value is, long-time returning players? One of the main concerns many players have is the amount of time it takes to get their winnings.
Some casinos make you wait until you are a VIP before you can flush a withdrawal, but the way I see it, if you let players flush from the start you'll likely end up with more VIPs.
If this is just for current US players, I understand.
This will lead to a lower customer retention rate and that's a bad thing for an online casino trying to cope up with the competition. People would realize sooner that waiting for payments that long can be quite tedious. People would realize that the other online casino with just 24 hours payment processing is a good option.
Not unless Belle Rock has something that customers can't let go, this move will surely lead to something negative..
For those players who are not VIP level, well it's absurd.
It's common industry knowledge some players wont last the 72 hour holding period - they'll get itchy fingers and reverse some if not all of their winnings. As a result lose the lot.
For affiliates who watch out for their players interests I surmise they'll make a judgement call whether this is acceptable or not.
For affiliates who don't care about their players, I suppose they'll be throwing a party!
Edit: It's 2011 not the 90's. Acceptable industry cash-out times are 48 hours (and really that should be a max) to web wallets (Neteller, MB, CLick2Pay..et al). Anything over that period is and should be unacceptable. However this move by Belle Rock Entertainment pushes that time period to, at minimum of 96 hours before a players funds to hit for instance a web wallet account.
Lets not even contemplate a Wire Transfer.
It's not the age of Ma and Pa casinos run from a basement any-more. It's big corporations and Public Traded companies. If these online gaming venues can't see the BIG issues with introducing these sort of player restrictions, then there responsible gaming protocols are in desperate need of major overhaul and injection of some common casino ethics.
This move on the part of Belle Rock is just plain wrong on so many levels.
Cheers

Where is Cobus now? Perhaps this thread should be in the ReferBack forum?? I would like to hear his input on the issue, 72 hours is ludicrous!

These are just short term gains customers WILL leave if they find BETTER places to play.
You do not have to be a brainiac to figure this out.
Where is the Cobus ?
Same old brand new marketing strategy..
Belle Rock is a direct connection to Microgaming itself.
However, if memory serves me, Grand Prive went to this strategy before they left MGS altogether.
At this point, it may seem like a stretch to some, but things happend in steps, and stages. Grand Prive shafted their affiliates.
Lets hope this is not the next step in the process.
I wonder if this is an attempt to maintain profits, or to increase them.

This will definitely lead to decrease in customer or players. As a player I will not choose an online casino with a somewhat sluggish withdrawal payment processing. The new policy is not helpful though, the fact that there are many casino site processing just in 24 hours.
