The Belmont Stakes features a rare rubber-match
Believe it or not, the winners of the first two legs of the Triple Crown facing off at the Belmont Stakes doesn’t happen often. The last time was 2005 and in the 130+ years of the Triple Crown, it has only happened 20 times.
Well it looks like this Saturday could be 21 as both Kentucky Derby winner Animal Kingdom and Preakness winner Shackleford appear to be good to go.
Animal Kingdom currently the +220 favorite to win the Belmont with Shackleford coming in at +500. Kentucky Derby runner-up Nehro is getting a lot of love from the odds-makers as he has the second shortest odds (+400).
Master of Hounds (+1200) is the longshot the Belmont betting public seem to be on early.
