    Default Benefits of GPWA

I am new to your site. i would like to know the benefits of benefits of being associated with you organization. My site has been up since the middle of October, 2007. i have only contracted as an affiliate with two programs and would like to expand. however, i ran accross your site and thought it would help me to be more legitimate and professional.

I do own my domain name and site although it is listed a private. does this create a problem with a private domain registration?

i am also in training as a webmaster and would appreciate your kind review and opinions of my site.

In addition, are there any fees charged by joing your organization?

Thanks in advance for your time, energy, effort and answers.

    mamary.

Keeping the domain private is ok and a little more info will be requested when you fill out the application, but don't worry, the information is kept private and only share with the membership committee.

The benfits are tremendous once you become a private member and have access to all the information here.

You have to remember there is YEARS worth of posts here....

I couldn't put justice to the benefits here in one post. Believe me, it's worth the process!

I took a look at your site. There may be some things you would like to consider. You have a download link that you are offering players. It goes to Riverbelle but there is no info on what to expect. Most players would like more info before being taken directly to a download page. Your rewards program then takes you to a casino rewards group page. Again, I feel players may like a little more info.

Just some thoughts. Best of luck to you and if you have questions, you've come to the right place!

edit (add): there are no fees associated with becoming a member at the GPWA.

I have to say, I've only made one post so far and the advice I've had already in a matter of minutes has been great.

The GPWA is an awesome resource for new webmasters. I've never seen a question go unanswered. The forums are chalkfull of useful information. Anyone who is serious about their business will benefit enormously from the FREE membership here. Becoming a private member should be top priority for everyone!

Building a successful site requires hard work, knowledge, common sense and a little luck. Using the resources provided by the GPWA is a great way to achieve the common sense and knowledge portion of the equation. The hard work and luck are up to you.

Just remember, you get out what you put in....

    Hi Mamary,

We have a printed membership brochure that we hand out at conferences hoping to address what the benefits of membership are for webmasters. I've just emailed you a PDF of the brochure.

Here is a bit of an outline of the various benefits offered at each level of membership:

    Public Membership benefits include...
    • Free admission to a range of industry events and conferences (such as the upcoming CAP Euro conference)
    • Free subscription to the GPWA Times Magazine, which is mailed to members who provide their physical mailing address (provide your mailing address by following these instructions and review the magazine by viewing the first and second issues online)
    • GPWA Times weekly email newsletter (see newsletter archives)
    • Personal profile with site listings (including linkbacks) in the member directory and portal sites sections
    • Access to the affiliate program gaming site search tool -- the search feature enables you to identify affiliate programs that have brands that fit your needs including how affiliate earnings are paid, software the site uses, languages the software supports, languages the affiliate managers speak (including proficiency level of their language knowledge), locations where players are accepted, and types of games offered (casino, poker, bingo, sportsbook, etc.). The search tool is available at https://www.gpwa.org/affiliateprogra...iateSearch.asp and lists 253 of the top gaming brands.
    • Access to detailed affiliate program profiles (here)

    Private Membership benefits include...
    • Discount on StatsRemote software (see details about the special arrangement, or sign up for StatsRemote here)
    • Eligibility to apply for the GPWA Seal of Approval for your site or sites (the seal application includes additional review beyond the private membership review, with private membership being a prerequsite) -- more about the Seal of Approval program is available at https://www.gpwa.org/portal_sites/portal_seal.asp
    • Access to two types of exclusive forum: forums about each sponsor affiliate program restricted to private members and the staff of that affiliate program, plus private forums for only portal webmasters.
The private membership requirements and application form are available at https://www.gpwa.org/private_registration.asp.

Thanks for raising the topic. I've enjoyed reading the notes about what people find to be the most valuable aspects of membership. At the center of our efforts is a commitment of helping members build the partnerships, resources, and ideas to be successful in their businesses.

    Hi cityguard

Is there a link to the pdf brochure on the site anywhere? I'd be very interested to read it.

If not, is there any chance you could email it to me?

    Cheers

Hey Mary and welcome. Think of it this way. Being new to the industry your going to run across so many things that you dont quite understand and need help with. The members here will do their best to do that. I still consider myself new since I have only been doing this for a year but if someone advises me on something I listen because the odds are they have been there. There is so much information taht can be foudn in these forums that you just couldnt do on your own....I will also say that although most of these people will be your direct competitor in one way or another they are still willing to help you make money, teach you or lend an ear. However you want to look at it, that in itself is an amazing thing.

Welcome and dont be afraid to ask questions....I do...

The brochure is really intended for print distribution so there isn't a version uploaded to the site. I'll email a copy to you.
