I think this had to be the worst year for Superbowl commercials... I really didn't find any of them to be all that good. The best thing was probably seeing the preview for the new Pirates of the Carribean movie... thats how bad I think it was.

Just was reading a post on mashable about this, and noticed this commercial which I hadn't seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEaYFgWloBU ... as much as I hate Justin Beiber I think Best Buy did a good job on this one.

Here is the mashable article about how the social media world reacted: http://mashable.com/2011/02/07/super...mmercial-buzz/

I think the Teleflora commercial with the dude ordering flowers online for his gf was top-notch. Great cameo by Faith Hill, lol.

That one was disturbing on many levels. I think the ad guys are stealing with this bunch of commercials this year.

I mean there's nothing to compare to the Budweister - sheep streaker commercial, the best of them all imv.

The finger licking commercial was disturbing, but the funniest one I saw for sure.

How many folks do you know that would grab your hand and lick your fingers? Personally not many. lol

No mention of the "Terry Tate - Office Linebacker" series of ads that were made for the 2003 Superbowl? They are brilliant - there are about 5 or 6 in all following the trials of Terry Tate - ex Linebacker who now works in an office.

I thought the best ad this year was the Chrysler ad with Eminem. It wasn't a joke ad, but it made its point very well. As an American, it played on our history and national story so well. And of course the beat from Eminem's music helps. I'm not from Detroit, but it honestly made me feel a little guilty about the two Hondas sitting in my driveway!

Some serious money must have been spent on these ads. Whatever happened to the 30 second commercial. Now the commercials are 2 to 3 minutes long.

I wouldn't feel guilty... they still build a bunch of their cars in Mexico, but I guess that was probably left for the spanish version of their superbowl ad.

Did anyone see the commercial with the little kid as darth vader trying to apply the force?

That's the only one I've seen because it was sent around, but I thought it was cute.

I think they all sucked this year! Compared to years past, these couldn't hold a candle in creativity or comedy.

Half time also sucked the big one this year!!!!!

For the first time that i can remember, the game was the best part of the superbowl! lol

When you are spending upwards of $3 million just to show a 30 seconds ad (and a lot of these are longer), spending a million to make it sort of just seems irrelevant. Plus you are reaching 90 million Americans and a global market of over 1 billion people.

The superbowl final ad slots are the most expensive in the world.
