Bet365 has moved into the Mexican market with the help of media giant TV Azteca. The partnership should give them a strong introduction to the country, one which appears to be hungry for gaming. The market is underdeveloped, so this could be a very shrewd move by Bet365.
Bet365, a top United Kingdom’s bookmaker, is not only moving into the Mexican market, they’re also partnering with TV Azteca’s gambling subsidiary, “Ganador Azteca.” The subsidiary was established in 2018 in hopes of developing the gaming and sports betting market in Mexico. Now they’re going to get a big boost in this endeavor from Bet365, a company that does this as well as anyone.
”Ganador,” which is the Spanish word for winner, earned a casino license last year to establish a gaming property in the Yanga province in the state of Veracruz. That license expands to online gambling, which is what allows them to welcome Bet365 into the fold.
Originally, the Dirección General de Juegos y Sorteos, a division of the Ministry of the Interior that oversees gambling activities in Mexico, said that together, they can only run one single online gambling website. However, that rule was amended in November, allowing both Bet365 and Ganador Azteca to operate individually and to collect bets through various domains or internet sites.
