Default Betfair moving customer service operations to Dublin

According to an article by Ireland's RTE News, Betfair will be moving its customer service operations to Dublin while also opening a call data center. The move is expected to occur in the next few months and 100 customer service and data entry jobs will be created due to the move.

    From RTE News:

The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange, and its chief executive David Yu says that since Ireland is already a primary destination for online companies, Betfair is happy to make a significant investment here.

The company has been involved in a dispute with the British Horseracing Authority about a horse racing levy and had threatened to move its operations out of the UK to a lower betting tax environment.

Today's announcement means that part of Betfair's technology team will be in Ireland and its customer operations will be relocated here.

It was only a matter of time - why pay 20% tax when you can pay 10%.

Love this one line in the RTE: "100 customer service and data centre management jobs are to be created in Dublin by online betting exchange company Betfair."

Is that because 100 have just gone in UK???

Well, good for the online casino players in Dublin as well as for the job seekers in there.
