Garcia extends Major sequence
Sergio Garcia showed some glimpses of his former form as his runner-up finish at the BMW International Open booked his spot at the Open Championship.
Garcia can be backed at 20/1 with bet365 to win the Open next month while yesterday’s winner Pablo Larrazabal is at 100/1.
Garcia's slump over the last year has been dramatic and after dropping out of the world's top 50, the Spaniard's run of playing in 48 straight majors was in danger of coming to an end.
But after losing a play-off with compatriot Larrazabal in Munich, Garcia has secured his place at Royal St George's.
"Making The Open was definitely one of the goals," said Garcia, who tied for seventh at the US Open last week.
"Overall I am pretty satisfied. I am sure we can learn some good things from this and move forward."

England call for fit-again Bresnan
Yorkshire all-rounder Tim Bresnan has been recalled to the England squad for the five one-day internationals against Sri Lanka.
England are 4/6 with bet365 to win the opening match of the series and 4/7 to take the series as a whole.
The 26-year-old missed the Test series with a calf injury problem, but has recently returned to action for his county and will compete for a place with fellow seamers James Anderson, Jade Dernbach, Steven Finn and Chris Woakes.
Opening batsman Alastair Cook will captain England after Stuart Broad led the side in their nine-wicket defeat in the Twenty20 international in Bristol.
Cook can call on Jonathan Trott and Anderson, while Craig Kieswetter is set to continue as wicketkeeper.
Ian Bell is back after being omitted from the Twenty20 side for the Bristol match, having been in fine form during the Test series, while both Ravi Bopara and Samit Patel have the chance to impress.

Hamilton vows not to give up
McLaren's Lewis Hamilton has attempted to distance himself from post-race comments he made following the European Grand Prix in Valencia.
Hamilton had earlier admitted he feared McLaren would not perform at the next race at Silverstone but says he is now raring to go.
Hamilton is 9/2 with bet365 to win in front of his home fans on 10th July, with McLaren team-mate Jenson Button 9/1 to triumph on home turf and Vettel 8/11 to secure yet another victory.
Hamilton told his followers on Twitter: "To all our supporters, ignore what you read in the papers today. My team will never give up and I will never give up.
"Bring on Silverstone, your support will make a world of difference to us."

Stuart hits out at Queensland tactics
The Blues, who are 11/10 with bet365 to win the State of Origin series, will have to combat Queensland’s gamesmanship if they are to win the decider on July 6, says NSW coach Ricky Stuart.
Stuart is unhappy that the turf at Suncorp Stadium is to be relaid ahead of the game, which he feels will adversely affect his side’s scheduled training session there.
And he has warned his players that the hype surrounding Maroons star Darren Lockyer, who plays his last representative game in Origin III, threatens to become the only story.
Stuart said he came across the same sort of situation in 1991 when, as a player with NSW, he lined up in a match that marked the swansong of Queensland hero Wally Lewis.
He told the Sydney Morning Herald: “The whole environment changes. It was all about Wally as it is going to be all about Darren.”
Stuart added: “In 1991 we lost the game and it was like we were invited to the party but we weren't allowed to have a beer or a dance with anyone.
“I just really hope that doesn't happen in this game.”

Tigers relieved over Dwyer condition
Back-rower Simon Dwyer has been cleared of serious injury after a mistimed tackle while playing for Wests Tigers, who are 10/1 with bet365 to win the Grand Final.
Dwyer was taken to hospital after hurting his shoulder early in Friday’s defeat to the Bulldogs.
But chief executive Stephen Humphreys says scans have revealed the 22-year-old suffered no major injury.
Humphreys told Triple M: “I was [as] concerned as anyone at the look of Simon walking off.
“Simon was presenting as if he had a fracture or a dislocation of the shoulder. It was quite obvious he was rubbery-legged.
“That was a result of periphery nerve damage from the impact, which extended down to his leg … that's not uncommon to get some spasms there and some very temporary lack of control.”
The club is awaiting further scans to find out the exact nature of Dwyer’s injury and assess how long he might be out for.

Eels ready to extend Kearney deal
The Eels, available at 50/1 with bet365 to win the Grand Final, are preparing to buck the trend in the NRL by tying coach Stephen Kearney down to a long-term contract.
The league has seen a number of departures over recent months, the most recent being Matthew Elliott’s sacking at the Panthers last week.
And only two coaches – Newcastle-bound Wayne Bennett and John Cartwright of the Titans – are currently under long-term deals.
Parramatta, though, are ready to follow their example by signing Kearney to a deal lasting until the end of 2016.
The Sun-Herald has revealed that the club’s chief executive Paul Osborne has approached the board with the proposal and been given the green light.
Kearney is in his first season with the club, and Eels officials have been impressed with the way he is building for the future – he has established an academy to identify, educate and retain junior talent.
“Everyone has seen the impact he's having on the club and the football team,” a source told the Sun-Herald.
“But it's not just the short term, he's got a long-term vision for the club and we want him to see that through.”
