    Default Betway KYC

I got a request from Betway to complete a KYC-form and include some copies of documents. They are required to do this, but they're the first so far that are asking me this.

Anyone else received such a request?

tbh I thought it was pretty standard on first withdrawal. I have had to do this for various UK firms.

I know from the business side of things that the UK banks insist you do this when they open up merchant services (to take credit cards) as a betting operator (I have had that meeting with them), so if firms aren't doing it that would be a problem as far as their banks are concerned. For instance if they get a chargeback the bank might ask if the operator did the due diligence required. So the operator needs to show they did. And then, the ineffective Gambling Commission also state it is necessary and any submission to them for a licence needs to satisfy them on this point.

Has a few recently, Hills and Ladbrokes from memory as well as Betway. Seems pretty standard nowadays.

I guess I am allowed to mask everything on my ID that they don't need and do not have the right to have it?
