BGO game malfunction ? confiscated player winnings and deposits ?

Today I was just checking google for some keywords and one of them was bgo.

On the first page I found TrustPilot a review site for customers to leave a comment about their experience. (some kind of rating site)

If you scroll down a little bit you will find a good amount of bad comments about game malfunction where winnings and deposits being confiscated.

"Eventually they emailed back telling me that because one of their games had a fault on it they were keeping both my winnings AND my deposit"

"BGO have confiscated my winnings of over £400, despite approving the withdrawal and providing a confirmation email. Furthermore, they have seized my £100 deposit"

"they took the game i was playing down while i was playing it and seized my winnings and two deposits i had made"

"I've told him that if there was a problem with the game then the taking of my winnings is, whilst frustrating, is permitted. However taking my deposit is not. So yeh DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!"

I have not heard anything about this and therefor I made this post to se if someone here has any info about this ?

Interesting. My first reaction is surprise that there are that many customers independently coming in and posting about them in such a short space of time. If you scroll further down the list and look back a few months it is rare to see more than 2 or 3 posts a month. Most are 1 star reviews, which doesn't surprise me because happy customers don't look for a place to complain. Now all of a sudden the site has been inundated with complaints all about nearly the same thing.

The thing is they use games from suppliers that they don't have control over. So I highly doubt they are rigging the games.

Maybe bgo added a button on their site to post to that page or something and disgruntled people are using it? Or maybe someone is organising a bunch of people to post, or it is one disgruntled person doing it all using multiple accounts. Notice how most are all new accounts with only 1 post on the site.

Interestingly enough I also found Betway on there and recently they have been inundated with 5 star reviews all praising their customer service which to me looks completely fabricated. After seeing that I have no doubt that companies are paying for fake reviews on there and it doesn't take much imagination to realise how companies could use this against their competitors.

My first thought is that I agree that the reviews "seem" fake. I would expect such a complaint to be lodged or at least duplicated at the pogg, ask gamblers, or casinomeister if I were to take it 100% seriously.

However, as is the case with any of the seemingly fake reviews, I make a note to see if there is any other "noise" being made. If enough noise is being made, it may be an early sign of issues for players.

In any event, despite the issues we have with them as affiliates - I cannot recall seeing similar complaints to the ones on trust pilot.

I wouldn't assume that. I doubt that 98% of players that simply google a casino, or take their friend's recommendation, or see an ad online or on tv, have heard of any of those sites. This is the sad reality that I have come to learn from years of dealing with complaints after the fact at my own site.

Cheers for the info on the bgo affiliate program. I was not aware of that.

hmmm I have first hand experience of this.

A few weeks ago I was playing with BGO. Played a few slots then had a couple of games on bingo, that I won £300 from, then did a withdrawal of £200, and proceeded to play a few more games and then a few more slots.

A couple of days later I noticed my withdrawal was on hold so I got onto live chat (as they have no phone number).

Eventually after about 20 minutes of arguing with him, I was told it was being held as there were irregularities on the gameplay on Monopoly Big Event (I think that was it, but it was definately a monopoly game that i hadn't played). I hadn't played this game, and my winnings were from Bingo, so even if I had played MBE I had made a loss on it so it shouldn't affect my funds at all. Then he tried to tell me I had played the game around a month previously, but couldn't/wouldn't answer why it would affect winnings from bingo from 48 hours previously.

Then when I checked my play history, it wasn't even MBE I had played, I had actually played £2 on 2 spins of a different monopoly game, both of which resulted in returns of £0.00 each spin. So they were holding £200 because a month earlier I had lost £2 on a game that sounded similar to one they apparently had a problem with. He also insisted the game had been removed from the site as soon as they realised there was a problem, but it was still there on the site. the guy who I was speaking to was a complete liar and didn't have a clue what he was talking about.

Needless to say, after a few threats from me, they did eventually release it, but they haven't had a penny from me since, nor will they get any more, so as much as all the bad reviews in a short space of time might look a bit dodgy, from what happened to me I would say they are true. I was on live chat for almost 90 minutes, and do argue my point, so I feel for the people who are playing who just accept what customer service tell them.

Personally i would avoid BGO like the plague.

In case a BGO rep comes on here to deny this, feel free to put a copy of my chat log in the thread to show what a rubbish company you are.

I am looking around a bit on askgamblers and casinomeiser and it seems that it is the monopoly slot as Colin mentioned in the post above.

Seems it was something about that it was "Easy" to wager the deposit bonus on that slot.

I am on My mobile phone so Will update with more info later.

Looking deeper this morning, it is clear that the amount of "noise" being made (after playtech move/buy-in) has increased drastically. There's also been a number of "staff changes" on the player support side, as well as on the affiliate side and some terms changes (both player and affiliate).

Could that be smoke on the horizon?

Playtech did a "buy in" and have a 1/3 stake in the company (a source). They (bgo) also moved to a playtech based gaming platform. I too have very little that I can call "good" experiences where Playtech is involved in ownership.

The game is "Super Monopoly Money", it seems that the bonus wheel function on that game made it easier to wager bonuses.

So bgo decided to remove it and mark it as bonus abuse. That is some info I found atleast , not 100% if that is correct or not.

But it seems that this was/is not in their terms, because bgo refers players to :

"The Player understands that the Company takes no responsibility whatsoever, direct or indirect, for losses that may occur to the Player when playing the Game. The Company will not be liable for any financial loss to the player in In the event of the cancellation of a game for any reason"

Also, I see that skyvegas has added super monopoly to their terms that does not allow for play with bonus money.
