Post Big News! 198odds.com is now live!

    Hi All

Our new site, 198odds com is now live! We have taken some time to make it perfect and to make sure all the features we wanted were in there. Our idea is to give football punters exactly what they want. As simple as that. "What does that look like?" you may ask, well, here you go:

    • ODDS COMPARISON: view the best prices from all major European and Asian bookmakers on the best Asian Handicap and 1x2 markets for all football leagues. Prices update in real time on all major markets and link directly to the site for you to sign up and bet straight away
    • TIPS: read and follow our professional punters' tips. The stats will tell you how much money they have made betting on all the major English, Italian, French, Spanish and German Leagues as well as MLS
    • PROMOTIONS: see our favourite bonuses and offers to give you a head start in your betting career.
    • BOOKMAKERS: read our original bookmakers reviews where we tell you what we think is good and bad of each one.
    • BLOG: where you can read all the latest football news and find out a bit more of what we think of the main upcoming matches.
    • You can SIGNUP and choose which bookmakers, markets and leagues to display once you login so you won't have to search and filter through the thousands of events we offer each time if you don't want to

198odds is completely responsive and performs as well on mobile and tablet as on desktop devices. It was important for us to cater for all punters and the growth of mobile penetration and internet speed over 3G and 4G networks in developed and developing countries was key to our design process.

We have designed the site and translated it to cater for the casual punter in Asia as well as Europe and have created geo-targeted and language-specific layouts of the main sections to make them easier to use. You can read more about it here.

Our core target market is South East Asia but we built the software to cater for other territories as well.
    Thanks

    Cheers,
    Mauro

    Hi

Sorry if you found the message spammy. Have edited out my contact details and taken off some bits. Should have edited before posting.

The value we bring is supplying a free-at-consumption odds comparison and professional tipster website. Yes, we do have affiliate relationship in place with some bookmakers but we also need to pay for hosting costs, content and all that so I don't think there's anything wrong with trying and monetising certain features without disrupting the user experience. Happy to hear comments and thanks for your reply.

    Cheers

good luck but I did fine it a bit banner heavy and overwhelming, although have noticed a lot of south east asia sites are like that

Nice, I think you'll do well among Asians. This is a massive project and it must have taken a lot of effort. I wish you success because that would mean hard work is rewarded.

And don't apologize to other affiliates for putting a banner.

I like the filters on your site, very good and useful feature for users.
To be honest I agree with others, you have too much banners... In my opinion, without so many big and small banners your site would have more solid look. You decide .

yes, It originally looked like it was made for gamblers and I see it has been copied and pasted on many different forums "to me that's spam" and website wise hundreds of dofollow affiliate links might hold back potential of the site, along with the ad algo.. you might pass but a large part of your site looks directed at ads opposed to delivering content first.. but that's my opinion others think ads first content later

I guess you're not aware a project of this magnitude must have taken at least 1 year to develop. What Mauro and his team did took some real skill, as opposed to writing crappy content, which is what a monkey with a keyboard could do.

If you want to talk banners, please make sure 25% of your site isn't covered with them. Then talk.

25%? 4 banner ads? most on the right hand sidebar which mobile users don't see until the end "70% of my traffic" You donīt need to be a genius to understand that the 198 site is going to get slapped for a very basic error... it doesn't matter how long it takes to construct something, if you are going to place 12 large ads above the fold and content expect to reduce your organic exposure.. believe what you will.. Time will tell

    Congratulations!

Mauro, may i ask you a question? As i see, your site is targeting on Chinese visitors. I see you have Simplified and Traditional Chinese language version. You have links to QQ, Youku and Weibo. You tell that you targeting on South-East asia. This chinese versions for chinese players from Singapore and Malaysia? Is it possible to receive Chinese players from PRC (People's Republic of China)?
We know about strong internet censorship in PRC. Is it possible for classic affiliate sites to survive in this market? If you have expirience, please tell as about it, this must be very interested.

    Thank you
    Sorry for my poor English.
