Calling all bingo affiliates!
I have in the last 6 months dabbled a bit in the world of bingo just to give it a try. So far I have found player values very low and found it all horribly unprofitable when compared with sports/casino betting which is my forte at the moment.
Signup levels have been ok though, but I just can't seem to make it pay.
Is this typical for bingo? Would you go for rev share or CPA with bingo?
find it the other way round, decent value players normally that also stay loyal longer, but saying that I dont bother doing a great deal of bingo
An example is Foxy Bingo, I've had just over a hundred signups since they went £5 No Deposit, but just total bonus riders, barely a depositing player amongst them. Compare that with say, Betfred sports betting and their no deposit deal seems to convert really well into depositing players. Maybe I just don't understand women ;) It wouldn't be the first time.
Rev share all the way - plus CPA's in bingo are pretty tiny. Don't forget that the no deposit players you mentioned in your post wouldn't trigger the CPA anyway unless they deposited...
Bingo players can be decent value though - I've had a few in the x,xxx range on side games - it's just that the average value is lower so you need more volume. And as 'bookies said, the good players can be pretty loyal.
It really depends on your type of traffic. I personally always prefer rev-share because quality players are loyal and play a lot.
Moreover, you can always change a brand and try a different brand, there are hundreds brands out there, and many good and respected
programs offering bingo sites, bet365 bingo, winner bingo, Jackpot City Bingo , 888 bingo...
But if you see that the value is still low try to discuss on a hybrid deal a CPS or CPA + rev-share so you'll ensure at least some income for your traffic.

Thanks for the advice so far, I'm going to try and get CPA + rev share at some point, but at the moment I'm not really in a position to bargain hard with any aff managers on this one as it's not sent massive numbers or done anything revenue wise.
It's interesting just how different bingo traffic is to sports betting. Any more advice is much appreciated, it seems that different things do well due to the type of customer being so different to your average sports bettor, who I have learnt how to market to and convert.
Well its hard to compare player value of sports and bingo, in sports you can make huge earnings and in bingo if the player is not taking advantage of the side games the value is much lower. But in general the value is relatively lower.Quote:

I would always go rev share. If you need money up front ask your affiliate manager if they can do a hybrid. They may give you a small CPA plus a lowered rev share. It is a great way to get started so you get some money up front but also have some residual income as well. Not all affiliates will do this but some of the good ones will. I am not sure if any bingo ones do, maybe another bingo affiliate can help out if they any programs that do offer a hybrid??.
Yeh I don't NEED the money as such, I do well out of sports betting, I've just earnt so little at bingo so far that I wondered if I was missing a trick and whether everyone was on CPAs/hybrid deals.

obviously the best possible deal would be a good rev + CPA ( hybrid deal ).
however if u choose to go with CPA only be prepared to be disappointed as they are crap.
Are you attracting and guiding your traffic towards free? like "free chips" or "free bonus?"
if so that might be the issue, get rid of the free pitch and get rid of the free codes and go for
deposit bonuses promotions.

rev share, as bingo players lifetime can be very long.
Both methods can be beneficial i think. All depends on the CRM of operators.
Just so you know - BingoReward offers a hybrid CPA + Rev Share deal as standard for their BingoLiner site. It converts very nicely and does retain players. I've got players still playing that go back 5 or 6 years.
I agree tryme, although I actually push referbingo a little more, for some reason I seem to convert them a little better although they always run the same promos etc.

For what bit I do on bingo, it's a steady stream, take a good volume of players and in the long run, the value will come. I had a player sign up, was spending £10 a month for first two months, then the third month, they lost £9,000 in space of 4 days, it's a waiting game. You'd be as well taking a couple of CPAs on one or two programs, to mix things up, but ultimately the revenue will pay off in the longhaul. Especially over times when new signups are taking dips
Bingo players can be very loyal and so the player value can be high. The bonus hunters going for your £5 free offer are just that - they've no intention of staying around and paying. For bingo, I stopped advertising free cash long ago and find it best either to advertise a matching bonus or better still a competition or specific promo they are running. The average bingo player seems to prefer the chance to win a holiday that get £20 free as a matching bonus - IMO.
