June and July are not good month's for me, not much business gets done in these months because of the sector I concentrate on which is mainly football (soccer) and 2009 is one of those years without a major tournament, no Euro Championships and no World Cup.

I have moved in to other areas only slightly, a poker website, a baseball site and a basketball site, though that also finishes soon but these will hardly make up for the shortfall that I am expecting but at least I have taken the steps that I hope will offset this problem in future years.

I cannot complain too much, the weather will be great here in Malta and even with the tourist invasion some quiet spots are there and with a ice cold beer one can enjoy the day in a relaxed manner but work has to be done and so I will have to find that balance this summer.

Advertising plays a major part of my work and August will be very busy and hopefully lots of sales will be achieved depending on what sort of budgets the bookies will have for the upcoming season and of course next summer will I hope be a gold mine with the world cup, mixed feelings on that though.

Want England to win naturally from a personal and emotional aspect but not from a business point of view, an England win I reckon would cost me dear, but thats just guess work really.

So summer in Malta what am I going to do?

The kids will obviously play a huge part and time will simply have to be found for them, they need that time with their dad and I need it with them and I am looking forward to swallowing seawater, avoiding jellyfish, snorkeling, getting burnt and getting drunk.

May visit the dolphin park this year but costs a pretty penny to swim with them, €140 I think but may be worth a go, may visit Sicily which is a ferry ride away and have an authentic Pizza and some real spaghetti bolognese.

Dont think I will be eating some of the Maltese delicacies like Horse and Rabbit but their cheese and sausages are to die for and would recommend them to anyone visiting this beautiful island.

The Maltese are fantastic people, very friendly, passionate about sports, well in having an opinion they are, they can drink with the best of them and they know how to relax, they love a good time and not just involving drink.

There are many fiesta's going on and I will be looking forward to the tractor festival this year as well as the strawberry one, the kids love these festivals and the fireworks that accompany them are awesome.

The humidity is Malta is difficult but the air con that will be getting installed shortly will help in that but the flies can be a serious nuisance but manageable.

My local bar is run by an Aussie and me and him will be at it all summer long arguing about Cricket and who will the ashes and naturally arguing with all the regulars in the bar about who will win what in next season's football.

The kids are welcomed in Bars in Malta and they love the ice cream and cold drinks they always harass me for and the locals are great with them, they are not just welcomed in name but in reality, the locals interact with them and even try to influence what team they support but to no avail, they simply don't realize that my kids must pledge every night their undying loyalty to the might Tottenham.

The other half (the boss) will no doubt dictate what we do most of the time but thats ok as she is very much like me in that we love socializing with the locals and anyway we expect an influx of family from the UK, in fact it's already started.

So all in all financially I am bracing myself for a downturn, I will be putting in play some new websites, will do some advertising business but mainly will enjoy this beautiful hot passionate island and be grateful that I live in such a wonderful place with a beautiful family.
