It is a mobile gaming platform called the “easyPlay Mobile Tournaments”, which is the first ever digital and interactive tournament offered by a regulated casino in the United States.

All the guests at the resort aging 21 years or above can access this platform using the resort’s free WiFi network.

Play slots, video poker, 25 Diamonds slots, Triple 7 Sapphire slots and bingo are amongst the initial 20 games added to this mobile platform.

Guests can play solo or take part in tournaments. They can compete with other players (other guests at MGM Resorts) while enjoying a drink at the bar or sitting by the pool. The panel is extremely user-friendly and exciting as it brings the element of competition.

"The introduction of easyPLAY Mobile Tournaments is aimed at giving our guests an exciting, new opportunity to play their favorite casino games while enjoying the best Las Vegas has to offer," said the senior vice president of BD at MGM resorts.

Apparently this platform is designed to attract millennial towards gambling. They are highly active on their smartphones and mostly social game players. This new generation is also not very keen of playing traditional card games or slot machines on casino floors. So, how else could casinos interact with this audience and attract them to the gambling world.

The main highlight of the launch is “All Summer Long Winner Takes All Progressive Slot Machine Tournament” that costs $5 to enter the tournament before 4th September. The number of players participating in this online tournament would determine the prize amount. But the minimum prize money is fixed to $10,000.

MGM has not announced the revenue projections of this campaign. But as per experts, initially the revenue from mobile betting may remain small and insignificant, but in long run it is potential of doing great business for the Strip. Success of this mobile platform can rank MGM resorts among USA’s and UK’s biggest online casino provider.

Lovell Walker, the executive director of Interactive Gaming Development at MGM said, “This mobile platform is going to lay the foundation for what we do in the future. Mobile phone is going to be a major part of gaming in the years to come.”
