Hey guys!

So the exhibtion opened today... needless to say I have plenty to tell but only so much time to say it. It is now way past my bedtime and I have to wake up in 5 hours. So shall keep this blog short, sweet and vaguely entertaining.

Man what a day. So as expected the remainder 900 people descended upon the lovely registration girls (and yes, as with all things technological, one computer was down and out. still five out of six computers is pretty good. Considering I was this close to taking that computer and throwing it out in the air for shooting practice. looove technology. really. favourite friend in the whole wide world. :anger:) But every one was in the halls and enjoying the massive space in no time. Best of all, it was amazing to hear the fantastic feedback from everyone - the Operators were happy, the Affiliates were happy, the weird random hungarian who paid me cash to come into the exhibition only to leave ten minutes later was happy. So all in all, I would call that a sucess.

Two things really stood out in my mind, first the body painted girls who made everyones day (including the little old waiter who tripped over himself and someone else in surprise) and the ASOPs. I think this was the first time the first person was out in the first 20 minutes. By the end of the day we had barely a table left for tomorow, but boy is the competition hotting up. Perhaps it was Doyle Brunson's cheering opening lines that got every one so nervous, but I know the small amount of elite players who managed to remain in the game will make for great watching tomorow afternoon. I will obviously announce the final winner as soon as I know it, and hopefully also the winner of the beautiful (read tacky) gold, diamond and ruby ring for the girl who manages to last the longest in the tournament. My hopes are that they will be both one and the same. Hey - I'm allowed a little bit of female loyalty... :eyebrow:

The biggest surprise of the day was of course the Chanceroom.com party at the White Angel. If you've never been to the club, then I would suggest you check it out. At first it seems like the cab driver brought us to the middle of some factory estate (yes all those mafia rumours were starting to make me sweat at the back of the Taxi) but what a venue. You are dazzled by rays of light and multicoloured stairs as you came in - and that was nothing in comparisson to the Angel Girls dancing on the stages. If I could only look half that good I would... hum... probably still not be dancing on a stage. But hey, maybe slightly happier.

I tried my luck at the games Chanceroom had arranged to get a key/token that would give me a chance at getting some amazing prizes. Once the golden key was in my possession, I queue up and waited for my turn - I am talking Ipods, speakers, iphones, travel vouchers... they spared no costs. And hey - I have lived in the UK for the last 14 years. I love to queue for stuff.

Of course my luck is reknown for twisting my fate into a deadlock and mugging it in the dark alley of my soul, so it was only perfectly timely that as I was about to go into the fantastical room of white light where all the prizes were being kept... the person before me got the last prize.

Thankfully the free glasses of wine and vodka saw me through. And anyway, I feel that perhaps me winning an iPod on Chanceroom would be nothing short of a bribe for our future relationship. so just as well.

Of course that could be the Vodka and wine talking.

Anyhow, I cant wait until tomorow - keynote speaker Calvin Ayre will be surprising us all and I will definitly be there for the whole thing.

Speak soon, TTFN
